In mylot when you answer a discussion, do you see other responses? or you just read the discussion and answer? I have seen that to my discussion today, few responses are just similar. it gave me idea that the user may have read others to get an idea? what about you?

it's up to how many responses are already there.if i'm the 100th person who responds to the discussion,it's impossible for me to watch all the responses through. what's more, the content does matter.if i'm sure i have different opinions from others,i won't read earlier responses in advance.while i used to take a look at them after i post mine.in a few cases, when i don't know how to start my response,i'll watch others for referrence.anyway,i try best not to be reduplicate, even for the same opinion,i prefer to use different words and expression.

If there are many responses before me, I go through some of them atleast to see if others have same idea. If the opinions are same I would not write in that discussion. I do not want to duplicate my response. So if I find similar response then I pass it out. There is no point in answering that.Isn't it? Sophialin ?

while in the case that you're really interested in the content and want to share your opinion and thought, though there's someone who has made the smilar response ahead.i will still respond to it as to find an interested discussion is a bit difficult on occasion.

sometimes i do read the whole thread just so i would know whether the question requiring facts was already answered or not yet. if i still have something to add to it, i do respond. but after reading the thread and i feel that the responders have already contributed more than enough, i just move on to the next discussion of interest. but when time is of a constraint and the thread is quite long (like more than 20 responses or so), i respond to it without reading all the responses, just a few. :)

not usually, it really takes too much time and when your time is limited you or at least I tend to want to maximize that time.

I do sometimes. Most of the time i am responding to my friends discussions from my email inbox, so it only loads the response area so I cannot see other members responses until I send mine and tag it. some users may read to kind of copy off of others. that is very possible, just to get that extra point or penny, LOL.

I never really thought about it that way maybe I should just to see where it gets me lol. it's worth a try subha. I get confussed sometimes on some of the discussions and don't know really how to answer them I have to sit back and really think about it and I want to respond but then my mind goes blank.

I usally just answer them without reading other replys. Of course I always do a lot of them from my inbox from my friends. Before I go to the mylot website to answer more.

Yes I read the responses that have come for a particular discussion and accordingly shoot out mine. This helps, responding not only to the Intiator but also to the co-responders. There comes some addition to the topic, if any. Also reading the inputs of others, help coming out with some more creative ideas. New ideas create newer ideas. Otherwise, one has just to say 'yes' or 'okay'...

I don't usually read other responses before making my own. I make it a point to type immediately what enters my mind when I read a discussion. After posting it, that's when I read all other responses. I am always fascinated by other responses that turn out almost the same as mine. It makes me realize that there are other people who do share my point of view. That really feels good!

Most of the time I do read others respond to a discussion before I do give my own idea, specially if the topic is very interesting. I think that's more informative that way. You can learn from others response without changing your own belief.

I do that when I'm confused to give a reply to certain topics and also to know others opinion in such kind of topics.

No not usually as I want to respond with my own thoughts and not be muddied by someone elses thinking and then of course sometimes the others are similar but I think its much easier for me to depend on my own common sense

Now while answering to your post i just gave a glimpse of what others think. Initially i give my opinion and then i read what other have written and then come to a conclusion.

Hi subha, I rarely read other responses before I make a response. Firstly I don’t have much time to spend here and secondly I afraid that others opinion might influent my view on the topic. If I come across any friends’ responses in the same page, very often I would like have a look of them. I am quite interested to learn more about my friends’ remarks on this topic.

Hello dear subha. If I respond to discussions from mylot email notifications, I do not have chance to read other persons' responses, as is the case to me most of the time. But sometimes I also respond to discussions that are listed as Similar Discussions. Then I would be able to have the chance to read one or two before responding, but not always. Thanks.

I do it sometimes when the discussion is pretty interesting for me and the opinion of others counts for me. If it's not though, then I don't... like in this discussion perhaps, I am not saying your discussion is bad or anything in fact I think it's good, I am just saying that other people's response won't really matter to me.

Read and then answer it. I can do both, it just all depends.
