Basically green tea has the antioxidants (like vitamin c is) the previous poster mentioned which remove toxins from your body. It lowers bad cholesterol and boosts your metabolic rate. It also inhibits fat absorption. I did a lot of research on green tea last spring when i started working on loosing weight. Id much rather drink a cup or pot of tea than take a bunch of pills!
By drinking it you are also keeping your stomach a bit fuller and are less tempted to drink something sweet/sugary or to snack because well you arent "starving"
as a side note: If you've ever read the list of ingredients in some weight loss supplements - theres many that contain green tea.

Green tea has antioxidants which help your body! There are many websites that can explain it. It helps suppress the appetite too and can help increase the good cholesterol that takes bad cholesterol away from your heart! it is good for you as the caffeine level is lower than coffee and it should not affect you with a fast heartbeat!
