I always fight with my husband everytime i watch tv... we want to watch totally different things... but now we came into a compromise... i have the tv all to myself when American Idol is on... then the rest of the days are his... But nowadays... my baby is joining in the fight... she would always want to watch cartoon or hi-5 cd's... and between the three of us... she would always win... good thing she also likes American Idol...

We only have one tv... so there is no choice but to share or do a compromise... or else... we will end up fighting everyday...

i love american idol,we still get it here in australia,so sometimes i get to see it.i watch australian idol,as last year my daughters best friend was in the final 12,so it was really exciting, this year several of her friends are auditioning so it will again be exciting.i am glad you and hubby can compromise, but i don't think you can compromise with a 3 year old,she has good taste with hi-5 and american idol.cheers sue

My husband I thankfully like most of the same things so we watch most things together, we have a few disagreements about shows, like on Sunday night, but in that case one of us will just go up to our room to watch our shows and the other will stay in the family room. The kids have their own TV, but we also have things we like to watch as a family. Even though my husband I watch TV together most of the time, he never relenquishes control of the remote.

I live alone... So I'd be worried if there was a fight over who watches what!!! ;) LOL But when I come back and visit my parents house, we never really fight over it... My dad watches it in one room and me and my mam will be in another... Whats really good is that over the years I've grown to like my mothers taste in shows (she likes things like Cheaters, Maury Povich, CSI, America's Next Top Model etc etc) We get along really well... So it's good I can just go into the room and I'll like whatevers on the TV :)

Yeah its really nice... I was having lunch with my mam and her bf the other day (my mam and dad are split up but still live in the same house, they are friends so its all good) and he was amazed at how well me and mam get along... I am grateful for that, cos there was a time when I wouldn't have been able to say that. But yeah... She's into cool shows... She's very trendy I must say (but shhhh don't let her know I said that ;)

if I have control of the remote no, not really but when he has it, my son, yes I have to fight, and it bugs me. But I can't complain all that much because sometimes he goes for months without caring about anything on tv.

what is it with boys and remotes.lol.yes i have to admit i really give up on the argument after a while with my son,as the excuses he comes up with for watching his shows over mine are usually so unique, that i end up laughing,so he records them for me and i watch my shows when he is asleep and it is nice and peaceful.cheers sue

Thankfully I don't watch much tv, which is just as well as my dad hogs the television he can actually sit and watch tv for 15 hours a day which is like OMG! I watch a maximum of an hour a night and I have my own portable in my bedroom which is good enough for me. It doesn't bother me, just as well dad doesn't understand computers otherwise we'd be fighting for sure over use of the computer, but it's mine, and the tv's his so we have a great understanding!

Before when there was just one tv in our house, the tv is switch from one channel to another during commercial break. Now that we have 3 tv, there is no more conflict in tv watching. I watch the show the I like to watch in the tv in my room.

My husband and I never fight over the TV. We don't watch too much TV as it is, but we do have a few shows we turn it on for. We watch those together. If we happened to want to watch different things at the same time, we have two TV's in the house (one in the living room, and one in the bedroom), so we'd just each take a TV!

thats great you can both share the t.v at your home.we have a few t.v.s here but only the one hooked up to the antenna, the other we play playstation on,so its hard when he wants to watch one program and i want to watch mine.its not worth the argument.cheers sue
