When a banner flashes at the top of the screen saying, "Congratulations, you are the 10,000 visitor you have won..." do you click on the banner and see what you have won, etc. or do you just ignore the banner ad. Wondering what you have done and what has been the result if you followed the ad, did you ever get anything for free?

I ignore anything that says I've won anything. How can I win something when I haven't even visited their site? It's their way of getting us to visit their site and give out our info.

Usually it's just a way of extracting your contact info, and some make you complete a bunch of offers or refer friends to get the item. It's never a good idea to sign up with these things, because you're basically putting your privacy on the public market.

I was wondering if you ever followed the site and were tempted to apply -- if so what was it that you were tempted by? If not, and you learned this the easy way through listening to others, who did you learn it from?

when ever I see this banner I will close that window. Never bothered to see the content. I don't know any body who won the things they offer so far.
