Do you watch the news?

I look at the news every blue moon. To me the news they are always talking about negative things. Why can't the news put good things that goes on. While negative things are going on there is always going to be good. It seems like the world is always trying to find the flaws and just negative sides of everything. See people who are watching made need some type of inspiration. But how can they get inspiration or encouragement if everything is so bad and negative. The news just makes me sick sometimes!!!

NO. Instead I rather prefer reading newspaper. Because, in option 1. of watching news : You have to listen all the BLAH BLAH to understang the real NEWS. In Option 2. of reading newspaper : you simply read the headlines and you easily get the idea of the NEWS. 1. a) Here you dont have the flexibility of anytime, anywhere, and any- news. 2. a) Here You have the option of flexibility and choice of type, time, 1. b) TV News in my country have started predicting the future, rather than the actual meaning of NEWS that is giving report of an incident that has occured in the past. In my country TV news have started threatning people by predicting that the world will end in 2015; or some meteorite is going to fall on the earth after 1000's of years. they have just started giving false news als, just to increase their air time 2. b) Here you will find news and information only. These are a few reasons i prefer Reading NEWS rather than Watching them.

Yeah, it does get pretty maddening watching the news. But if you want feel good stories, you're going to have to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition or the last five minutes of Inside Edition lol The news basically is responsible for handling our politics, I think. I'm talking about major news networks like Fox - local news often have happy stories and community based information, like meetings or local school updates - so they aren't so bad. As for me, since I think news is all politics - I just listen to the talk radio. I can pick who I like and they spend more time on the issues. Of course, you have to tune in to the 'opposing' news from time to time, to kind of keep an even keel. Money probably has a lot to do with it also. If the 'bad' stuff didn't make viewers tune in, they wouldn't air them... but you notice how sometimes it can be 5:47 pm and they come in with a 5 second segment: "How the water you're drinking could kill you, tonight at 11:00" UGHH!! And then they have the nerve to make it the last piece of the show... but you've stayed tuned in ;) So, I guess to answer your question, No, I can't bear the news! hehe

Heck no! It is too depressing. Seriously though, I do watch it every now and then, but only Good Day Sacramento as it isn't all about the negative stuff like other news stations. I used to watch the news often as a teenager. I don't know why I did as it always depressed the hell out of me. I sure am glad I don't do that anymore!

I watch the news every evening and sometimes it does seem like only the bad things makes the news. I find it quite disheartening at times I must admit. I do think they should try and put more good stories on and try to even the balance out a bit, it would give people more encouragement. I think the people who make the news thrive on the bad things that happen, sometimes they seem to really enjoy giving bad news!!

I have to admit that I refuse to watch the news, like you said it's all negative things, and I find it very depressing, I struggle with my own ups and downs in life without reading about others and besides celebrity news never interests me anyhow. I guess good news doesn't sell or interest people and just watching how society is degenerating and getting worse and how we are destroying the earth well it's just gets too much at times, after a while you just switch off, you have to for your own sanity!

Yes, I watch the news. Every since after my college days I really started watching the news. While in college one of my professor would always give us a pop quiz on current events. So just before we would go to his class everyone would be reading the newspaper or on the computer looking up current news. But he was just try to get us to better ourselves and to keep up with what is going on in the world and around us. So now I'm always watching the local and national news everyday so I can know what is happening in my surrounds and in this world. My local news station show positive things on the news everyday, as well as the bad things.

yes normally i watch news ..usually in the evening!!surely inmany cases you can hear about negatie things so you can be dpressed to see that things come not good in amny fields or situation but...as you can imagine usually things haven't an happy end in life and also i think there is a kind of dramatisation by journalists to keep attantion by people reading newspaper or watching news on tv as well!!

I have to say I am addicted to the news. Not the normal local or evening news programs. You're right there, they always seem to be about bad news. I watch a lot of cable news. I bop around on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and CNN Headline. I get a better even account on what is going on without just a liberal or conservative slant.

No, I do not regularly watch news. Why waste my time on this unless I get something positive out of it. If something important is happening then only I watch the news.
