Have you ever faked being sick? I remember when I didn't want to go to school on cooking day, and this was just 3 years ago in french school, and I was 50 years old, I pretended to be sick, wasn't heard they knew I am sick but I just didn't want to participate in cooking and I didn't see where it had that much to do with learning french lol. how about you what is an event or experience where you faked being sick and why?

I always remember a time when I was invited to a big party and I had been lumbered with a Saturday shift at work, I didn't want to miss out and we were all travelling up on the Friday and coming back Monday, well I had Friday off and Sunday but not the Saturday. So what I did on the Friday I travelled up I rang work on my mobile to say that I had a stomach bug, only the train announcer started to list out the stations we were stopping at, I have never been so embarrassed in all my life! The supervisor must have heard, it ruined the weekend for me, I know serves me right. The supervisor never told the manager but she let it know she was onto me and I never did anything like that again!

LOL I don't know that I faked sick per say. There were a couple of times I wasn't feeling that great so I played it up more so I could stay home from school. I tried to fake it a few times and it didn't work. It was pretty hard to fake sick in our house; my parents didn't like us to stay at home at all so we had to be pretty darn sick to get out of school. I mean I did manage to stay home a few times for a day maybe and sometimes got sent to school by lunch time. One time I was so sick I asked to stay at home. The answer was you can't be that sick get ready and go to school. I went into the bathroom to wash up and fainted. NO I Didn't Fake It! I slept for 15 hours. Will I think I slept as it was the deepest sleep I ever had. I didn't move a muscle blink an eye or even dream. I just know I opened my eyes and wondered what happened and what day was it? The funny thing is the next morning I got up to get ready for school and my mother said you kidding me your not going to school get back to bed. I said but I am feeling better now. You get back to bed your not going anywhere with how sick you were yesterday. How funny was that. This as always stuck with me because staying home was not an easy thing for my parents to grant.

yep that is weird, when you want to fake it you mom won't let but when you want to go to school she makes you stay home, but mom's know when you are really sick at least most moms do.

In recent years no I have not done this but I remember faking being ill so I didn't have to go to school and then a bit later caught a bus to the local shoping centre instead. My tell tale jealous next door neighbour (same year in school as me) made a point of telling my mum I hadn't been in school. Believe me I was no way going to do it again after the grilling and grounding I got for and I suppose that has remained with me into adult hood. Ellie :D

Yes, I have faked being sick before. When I didn't want to go to work I would fake being sick so I could stay home. I think most everyone has done this at least once in their lives.

Nah, I've always been sick with something most of my life, so I don't really need to fake it. In fact, I go to work, school, etc, even when I'm seriously ill and should have stayed at home. Anyone that really knows me can attest for that. I would miss out on life so much if I stayed home sick as often as I really am sick. If I just don't want to do it, I usually say that I don't want to do it or I'm tired rather than saying that I'm sick. But, that has not gotten me much of anything.

In school, I couldn't fake being sick with my mom. Plus I was a huge nerd in school. Now when I was in the 5th grade, I honestly couldn't stand my teacher, so I missed many days as I could possibly could so I didn't have to deal with her. My mom was very understanding and made sick notes for me to take to school the following day. Even while in the military I couldn't fake being sick. They would make you go see the doctor at any sign of you being sick. Honestly, I was the type that would show up sick to be told to go see the doctor.

I think I faked being sick for most of the first grade! "My belly hurt" every single day. I wasn't really sick. I just wanted to be with my mom. She would walk me to the door of my classroom and suddenly I was sick. I actually remember the teacher telling my mom that it was ok to take me back home a couple of times. I went to pre-school and Kindergarten without a problem though. Maybe it was because back then first grade was the year you started going a full day.

I use to fake being sick all the time when i went to school, my mom knew I was full of crap but my dad was always like"let her stay home" and he would make me bacon and eggs and oj and toast. whatta great dad! I miss him! anyways that led me to doing it with work way later on in life. you know when you call out once it's like a pattern.

Yes I have, a couple of times, no, make that many times. lol I could not remember what's my most unforgettable experience of it. But there was a time in my 4th grade (imagine how young I was doing this sort of silly stuff, lol) I was sooooo lazy to get up on a Monday morning, I pretended to be sick, telling our nanny that I really cannot go to school. I was successful, and it I did not have to go to school anymore that day. The problem was, I was gonna have to live up to my sickness the entire day. They are gonna find out I was faking it if I would get up and be as lively as I normally was. So there I was, stuck at the bedroom doing nothing but boring myself. I cannot play, I cannot watch the T.V. by the living room, they were even asking me to drink some paracetamol I found hard to swallow that time. Urgh. Talk about bad karma. lol

When I was young i used to pretend I was sick then I always become sick after pretending so I don't pretend anymore...I think when we lie about being sick we get punished for lying.

Yes i did. When i don't want to go outside the room because i feel lazy. When i don't want to take military drill, i told to my teacher that i have a dismenorrhea, pain under the stomach due to monthly menstruation, i just don't like to drill, walk and follow the leader, my classmates.

I've only faked sick for an excuse for school as well. Fortunately, my aunt is a physician's assistant so she's able to write a doctor's note for me when I "need " to miss school. I haven't faked sick often but it sure comes in handy when you have a huge project due that day and haven't started.
