i know i will want to have a baby at one point but i am really scared of given birth to a child...of the process itself but of beeing a mother too.will i be good mum? will i manage to rise a good child like my parents managed to rise 3? to be good mum do you need some special skills,or it just comes along with the child like a special offer at the mall?

The fact that you care wether you will be a good mum says to me you would be. There are no special skills to being a mum, love your child and help them to grow up happily and safely do your best and thats all you can do. Every mother makes mistakes that doesnt make you a bad mother its how we learn, babies dont come with a book so like I say all you can do is your best and as long as your child has all it needs, love care, food, clothes etc thenyou will be a fantastic mother. As for the giving birth theres plenty of horror stories but for even more mums the birth goes well and simply although theres no getting away from the fact it hurts, a lot! That said ive got two girls now and plan another baby in a couple of years so it cant be all that bad as ive had two natural labours the first even with no pain releif! The fear I think of the unknown is always the hardest but trust me your body will know what to do when it happens, some women need a bit of help but thats ok too. I think the best thing you can do is have a good support network of family or friends because as wonderful as being a mother is it is hard work especially the first months. Good Luck xx

Yup its in you if you want to be a mother you will do it and as long as you do your best then that baby will be really lucky. It would make it easier if they came with a manual thats for sure but would take a lot of the fun out of it all!

I was scared also at first.I had never been around children or even babysitted when I had my first baby my daughter. No one is perfect and no one can be the perfect parent. It just takes time and love.We all make mistakes and learn and go on with our children.Just take your time and only have a baby when you feel more comfortable.Children are so amazing because of my little girl and boy I have become a better person. All the fear will leave you when they look into your eyes and take that tiny hand and put it in your hand.

I got scared when i held in my arms my new born cousin for only one minute. She was so tiny...i was afraid i'd hurt her in a way.And that's it with my previouse experience...

You are smart to be thinking so deeply about this. Becoming a parent is not something to jump into. I hear so many young girls that can't wait to have a baby because they are so cute. Parenting does require a lot of patience and yes, some skills but mostly a lot of love. To put your mind at ease and to gain some confidence, why don't you take some child care and parenting classes? They don't and could not teach you all there is to know but they do help. Each child is different and there is no set of rules that could apply to each child in each situation.

that is too bad because they can be quite helpful. we also have places here that you can just call for advice or to talk over a problem you may be having with your child. These types of things help a lot.

Sorry to dissapoint you but in Romania there are no parenting classes nor child care classes! All you can do is take advices from everyone that wants to share.
