Ranting...about KFC

What I am going to share to you happened yesterday but I really did not have the time to post last night. My boyfriend, my sister and I brought my puppy to the vet yesterday for one of her shots. Unfortunately, the vet was not around. We then decided to have snacks at KFC which was very near the clinic. I offered to place the orders for us while my boyfriend and my sister waited outside with the puppy. While on queue, one of the customers was complaining about how long his order was going to be served as he was told that it would take 55 seconds and it's been about 5 minutes or so. The manager immediately told him that he had to wait for a few more minutes and that really pissed the customer off. Then the manager commented "We can't prepare your food with magic you know." While the crew laughed and chuckled, I did not find that funny.Upon placing my order, the cashier told me that I will have to wait for the other food for 10 minutes. So I was given the drinks, mashed potatoes, french fries and the other orders. I brought the food outside for us to eat while waiting for our Fun Shots. When we were about to consume the food on our table, we called the attention of one of the crews to follow-up our order as it was already almost an hour of waiting. It took a while until she came back only to tell us that there was no pending order for us. My boyfriend went inside to check on our other orders. He'd been there for almost five minutes and when I turned to look at him, he gestured for me to approach the counter which I did. The cashier from whom I took the order, the manager and the supervisor were talking to my boyfriend and were telling him that they did not have any pending orders from us. They were looking for the receipt and we told them that they did not give us any since that was their basis for pending orders. They insisted that there was nothing for us in the pending list. I was really furious! I reminded the cashier that he told me to wait for 10 minutes for the remaining orders. He told me that if there were any then there was no reason for him not to give us our order. After few more minutes, he was handing us two orders of Hot Shots. I told him that I ordered for two orders of Fun Shots! Well, I simply showed them how angry I was. The customers on queue as well as those who were eating were just staring at us. What made me more furious was that they did not even apologized for what happened. Perhaps, other customers on queue did not want to experience the same thing that happened to me or even the other guy who complained about the 55 seconds thing decided to leave their line and moved to the other fastfood commenting on how bad the service was. I swear never to eat in that establishment ever again. I mean they have other branches in the city that could offer better service.

Hi dolce_vita! Oh dear you should have posted the address of that KFC branch so that we will avoid that place too. I don't like to go through that same experience because I am really a changed person when I go hungry! LOL! I do frequent KFC here in our area and I am just glad that they have good service. I guess, you should have ranted all the way to the manager all the way to the owner of that branch so that the smirks on the faces of the crew who served you will be wiped off. Oh gosh I am now angry for you dear. Take care and have a nice day in another KFC branch! :)

Well, as I have mentioned, the manager was there and she took the side of her incompetent crew. It is that KFC branch located at SM City Baguio.

they were so lucky that i was not with you. i will not let that just pass. i am a singer as you know and everyday i communicate with costumers and people who pays to hear us. that is not the way to handle costumers. the sarcastic remarks earlier on a different costumer is not good also. we paying costumers has the right to get angry if the service is not good. this happens to me many times but on different resto. i have no bad experience with KFC so far. what is bad in this kind of situation some staff now a days are not mentally aware of their job they dont take their jobs seriously. a lot of them specially the younger ones who are not professional when it comes to their work. all they want is fun and giggling. i also experience a cashier in a mall that was so bored for my children keeps adding what they want at the last minute. she told me sarcastically "are you finish?" ohh goodness she was really barking at the wrong tree. i ask "are you complaining? becuase if you are having a bad day I DONT CARE!!!" then the cashier smiled and say sorry.

most of the jobs here in the philippines (well i am not saying all,but mostly) came from palakasan system. i mean if you know someone you will have a good place on a certain company... regardless if you are qualified or not. so even you are a freshly graduate with high grades you cant just penetrate on some good companies without a backer.

You are right, most of the staff in these kind of establishments now is that they do not take their job seriously. They would even be very defensive when you bring to them your concerns. Too bad that even their managers and supervisors do not know what they are in position for.

The employees are always taught "the customer is always right" at the KFC where I live. All the manager had to do was check the computerized cash register to see what your order was or if the person who waited on you had put your order in to be filled. They sound as if they lack in training and should not even be working until they learn how to treat a customer. Not only that...You should not have been given only half an order. That's not the right way to handle any order. All should have been delivered together. I would report them to the regional manager. They will thank you for this information. If they don't know whats going on they can't correct it.

That sucks..wow! I cant believe there are crew and managers like that! Its their duty to provide good services and to maintain a very harmonious relationship with their customers! They need to be trained or replaced! They are not helping the company where they are working, they are just showing disrespect to people whom they are getting their salary! I have not tried that yet but if ever I will, I will aLSO give them the best of my worst!lol

Sorry about the incident. You should file a written complaint on the matter so it will be given action by their higher ups. Not eating again in any of their establishment is one but the best is to report so action can be taken. One more thing most of the time maybe the crews are so tired and lots of customers so there are some troubles in the order. Do you know what I do I dont eat at those fast food at lunchtime from 12 nn to 1 pm as all sorts of eaters are there. I usually eat at 11 am or past one so that there will be less people on queue. And I usually buy from canteens or some eatery offering different kinds of foods.

Well, we went there at around 4pm and there were very few customers. Being tired is not a reason for them to treat their customers that way. I was told that whatever letter for the higher ups are to be forwarded through the branch manager. Obviously, I can't do that. I am sure that the manager will just throw the letter away considering that she is involved in the issue. Well, I just have submitted a letter of complaint to DTI. I also have mentioned to what happened to my friends working in two different radio stations (AM). Well, you know how it is with AM radio stations here in the Philippines. For now, I am contented to have done these.

they were sure an inept bunch of food servers. I have heard other stories of KFC so I always go to Burger King as their service is always dependable and fast too. my friend nelda and I go there often and we have always been served atonce and sometimes one of the staff brings our order out to us.

I do prefer Burger King's services! Unfortunately, we do not have one here in our city. But everytime I travel abroad, this is definitely a place I look for.

I wouldn't go there any more neither. You can also complain to the corporate office. I would check into that, maybe they will give you coupons for free food. If I don't get good customer service someplace I don't go back.

I really intend to do that my friend... I would have talked to the supervisor or manager just like how I did in the past when something like this happened to me. However, I cannot do this now because even the supervisor and the manager really pissed me off. I mean, they were supposed to be there to solve the problem and not to make is worst by siding with the cashier and make it appear that we were the ones who were wrong. i have an experience like u on pizza hut and some fast food restaurant. i often complaint to the manager, but he/she ignore it. now, i never buy fast food or junk food. i'm preferred cook for my lunch or dinner.

I have gotten bad service in many KFCs also. I understand sometimes there can be a delay but the employees dont need to be rude about it. I will eat there again as I find the KFC in my town is run very well and I have had no problems but I do tend to avoid out of town KFCs as I have had to many bad experiences with them.

oh sorry to hear that. I love KFC and i never thought they have a branch like that. The higher management should know that so they can replace the people serving there. They are a disgrace for the famous name and yes your right you can go and eat on their other branch that could offer a better service and then you can leave their comment and suggestion if they have a suggestion box or maybe you can write to the higher management and complain so they will make an action and those people will learned their lesson.

Hi there! I have experienced really bad fastfood service alot here in the province especially jollibee in Gaisano Mall and Jollibee Plaza. I think that most, though not all are really incompetent and lacks proper training. I will also be upset like you because you are paying and you deserve a good service along with what you're buying.

You are right. There is a great number of incompetent workers now in these fastfood chains and what makes things worst in the story I have shared is that the manager and the supervisor immediately took the cashier's side. This attitude will just make customers feel alienated and not cared for.

Alot of workers in the fast food joints are not trained properly. When you re dealing with the customer you should be on top of your game. customer service rule, the customer comes first as they are the business. Most of these people are here only to get a pay check.

I've never had that happen to me, but i was at KFC today and had to wait 10 minutes or so just to have my order taken... there was 1 person in front of me mind you :P atleast once i made my order it was ready in about 2 minutes. I do remember one time around ten years ago i bought food from KFC and ended up biting into the sharp end of a feather, right there in the drumstick or what ever i bit into.

Hello Dolce_Vita (nice username by the way). Well, like other people have said I would never go back to that KFC store, and I would write their corporate office. Which KFC did you visit in Philippines? It sounds terrible that you all had to wait one hour for your food?! It's called fast food for a reason, right? Hehehe. I never did like KFC because they have all fried food and no healthier choices. Pablo

that was really bad. if that really happens on me, maybe i would destroy their counter, no kidding. i think you should report them to the owner of that branch so that they should be fired and so that they should replace someone who's better than them

i love KFC! but since many people are the same as me when it comes to that, there's always alot of customers waiting on line, that's the thing that gets on my nerves in KFC. especially in this mall from our place was just opened the line reached to the end of the door and some people were eating on the stairs, it sucks, that's why when we order KFC we also order for take out.
