Where have you gone camping? Have you stayed close to home or have you taken a big camping trip? Do you have a RV or just a tent? Which Do you prefer? I think I like camping in a tent so much more. But having the luxuries of a RV would be awesome! What do you bring camping with you? What's really in your RV?

My current favorite National Park is Theodore Roosevelt Park in North Dakota. It's almost always empty and very peaceful. We used to camp in tents when the kids were little, but now that they are out on their own we bought a small van sized RV. It's so much more comfortable than a tent and I love having my own (clean) potty, rather than being stuck with nasty campground bathrooms. It's also great when the weather turns wet because we don't have to worry about wet tents or sleeping bags. We try not to bring alot with us, so as to keep the weight down in our camper (and save on gas) We normally have 3-4 days worth of clothing and food, about 10 gallons of water and a few towels. Of course, my spouse has to have all of his camera gear too....

We haven't camped in any National Parks, we normally camp at a small campground about 40 miles from our house. It's our weekend get-away during the summer. We have tents, a smaller one that fits on the back of the harley and a bigger one that we take to the campground here. We normally take an air matteress, battery operated radio, camp stove, ice chests etc, and of course the dog lol. Unless we are going on the bike, then we take the small tent, air matteress, and eat out, since we have to pack way lighter. He has talked about getting a camper or rv, but I still like our tent.
