Did you ever buy those No Name :Pizzas and found that they were not as good

as the photograph on the box? We decided to have some pizzas, and the ones that were the No Name brand looked all right, but when we opened them, you needed a microscope to see the green peppers and there were no pinapples. In fact, they were just pepperoni pizzas with a few sprinkles of shredded celery and something from one of those herb packages. And I was coughing up phelgm afterwards. I mean it seems that when Superstore or Supervalue sells No Name, it is stuff that is not so good for you. I would rather pay good money for a name brand and get quality. What are your opinions.

I have long ago given up the practice of buying bargain pizza. They taste like cardboard and are usually salty and acidic. When I get a hankering for pizza I make my own.

I have bought some of those generic pizzas before also and the crust was like cardboard and the taste was just nasty. I know alot of times we cannot afford the high priced ones but the cheap ones make me want to do without. Alot of them are very small.

When we buy a regular pizza, I have to put some away for breakfast the next day, but those bargain ones, one just barely fills you up.

I have done this same thing before I bought a pizza from sav-a-lot. Once I tried a piece it tasted gross. It had hot peppers all over it. A few I can deal with but not that many. After that I learned never to buy their no name pizza. I usally go with a name brand now that I know tastes good.

No Name pizza is just nasty. And here in Canada, you pay $7 for it!! I think that's crazy, when I could get a pizza from Little Caesars or Dominos for the same and not have to cook. The ONLY frozen pizza I've ever found that actually tastes like real pizza is Delicio. They aren't kidding about it tasting like delivery pizza.

We should try that. I happen to love Real Pizza, not the imitation stuff.

I tried to get my husband to get some Delicio, gave mighty good hints, but he would not take them.

I very seldom buy pizza in a box or frozen. How I make my pizza is I buy the pizza dough and all the fixings and make it myself. I add a lot of toppings and I find it isn't that much more expensive or takes much longer than popping a ready made one in the oven. I just slop everything on it. If I am buying a ready made one I usually buy a better brand name one than a store brand one. I gind that a lot of no name brands are just not very good, whether it be pizza or soup or soaps.

We eat frozen pizza quite often as everyone in the family enjoys it. Our favorite pizza is from the Aldi's grocery store. I think the brand is Mama Cozzi or something similar. I prefer this brand over the big selling name brand pizzas available elsewhere. Once in a while you can find something where the generic or no name is better than the name brand.

I don't like any of the frozen pizzas, they just don't cut it with me. I get a lot of mac cain because my step father works with that company but I don't like any of that frozen stuff at all. My son will eat them not me.

I sure have that's why I now stick to the brand I like. I like Digorno so that's what I buy.

I like name brands myself, but since my husband retired, he's been more budget conscience then ever.

I usually don't mind the store brand, but it does depend on which store it is. I would have definitely taken the "unused portion" back to the store and demanded a refund for that nasty pizza. Usually the store brands have a guarantee that says if you don't like it as much as the national brand, you are entitled to a refund. I never go by the pictures of the food, for any brand, store or national. The food never looks as good as it does on the picture or commercial. The one they take a picture of is made perfectly, or hyped up with other things that are made to look like what is on yours.

Nothing beats a home made pizza! Buy the base and make it from scratch, that way, I know what's on it! Yum! We have bought the premade pizzas in the past and found they taste like cardboard so if we buy pizza, then it is Pizza Hutt to the rescue!

Those pizza's are awful and I no longer buy them, they are tastless they have about 3 shreds of cheese on them and a couple of pieces of meat and stuff and that is if you are lucky!! Even my kids do not like them and they love pizza, it is definately worth paying that bit extra for one that has a name and actually cares about the toppings what they put on.

Definitely! My sister and I bought a pizza at our local ice cream and pizza store. We thought it was yummy but then when we tasted it, I swear! Worst pizza ever! It lacks of cheese and toppings... darn!

I've done the same thing. I've had store brand pizza that was actually not bad - not great, mind you, but decent, but I can't remember where I got it now. I also prefer to pay a little extra for something I know will be good but I've found it's almost as easy and a heck of a lot cheaper to make my own. That Pillsbury pizza crust is really good and not expensive at all. Depending on what toppings you like you can get the stuff to make several full sized pizzas for the price of a small frozen one. I have not tried No Name brand. We don't have it here. Most of the cheap pizzas we have in our places don't taste that bad. At least it is eatable, it's just that serving are lot smaller than with name brand.

Well, I can get the no name because my husband likes them. Figure it out, I can't. I got these medium sized pizzas on sale this week for $1.00 each - they're always going on sale. He sits there and says they're just outstanding for the money! I'm looking at mine and thinking I didn't think I could even finish half of it. I prefer a really good brand of frozen if that's what I'm getting. They all have this just that's not particularly good for you, but I at least want it to taste good.

Well my GF can do pizza and of course no name. But the taste isn't so bad as you describe ;) it's a matter of the right ingredients and the right amount you put in there. So it's still taste as good as those pizza hut or Domino pizza ;).

Oh yes, No name pizza wont be as good as the branded one. I tried once a no name pizza who I bought from an ambulant vendor in the village, and its like youre eating a heated dough with no taste. so from then on I dont buy again and always go by the branded one even if it is to expensive, it is worth it.
