Hugs. Do you give your friends hugs?

Or would you prefer not to be touched. This is one of my favorite uTube videos of all time and if you get the time to watch it you may find it as heartwarming as I did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vL7Jo_1Z3Y8 One of the feelings you sense in this is the need to be cared about and a hug is one way of not having to say anything but be open to another person without strings. I love hugs but I used to be like cardboard. What about you?

I don't give hugs, even though they are my best friends. For me, shaking hands is already good enough. Or I just hold them by their shoulders.

I hope then you don't think I'm too forward if I give you a hug. I'll make it a short one in case you are not used to them. Let me know if you want a longer one. ((beruti)) Nope, not good enough for me. Sorry I have to do it longer. (((((beruti)))))

Ummmmm.....do you think your looks might have something to do with it? - I mean, I think you're beyond cute, but other people might feel just shaking hands with you is really a good thing? ROFL. Sorry beruti, but I couldn't resist. Your avatar is just to priceless not to comment on! LOL Welcome to mylot.

That is so true. I couldn't help notice how some of those people were really shocked that someone was willing to hug them. And you could see one woman who hesitated cause she thought he was joking, but she really wanted it. That was so heartwarming. That video touched me deeply and somehow it gave me a bit of hope that humans do care about each other. (((ParaTed2k))) Hope you felt that.

There are times I'm a bit distant, but I do like hugs (and yes I'll admit, I'll be honest: moreso from the opposite gender, but hugs themselves are still nice).

Hmm, weird glitch in posting. I do give very close friends hugs from time to time, but its usually family thats on the receiving end of my hugs.

I always loved hugging my hubby. Same with friends as well. It gives you an assurance in some way that they will be there for you no matter what.

Thanks reejane. It's nice to see what passes when you are hugging someone, like a feeling of assurance like you say. Sounds like you have a nice hubby. Hugs to you (((((reejane)))))

Hi there Tetchie! I like giving hugs to my friends who are girls like me. I agree that a hug is the best and easiest thing to make a person feel how much he or she is valued, loved, and cared about.

One of my nicknames is "Hugs," and its not much wonder as my real name is "Hugh," and my myLot user name is "Barehugs." And what could possibly be more exciting than a "Barehug," which is also the beginning of my email address. Yes I enjoy the Human touch, and I like to give as well as to receive. Have you noticed (as I have) that in situations where words are inadequate and hug will usually say it all? ~ Hugs from Hugh!~

To tell you the truth, I am called an ice princess precisely because I rarely show my emotions. This is the same way when I am with friends and I rarely become touchy with them. But I do need hugs sometimes. I see nothing wrong with hugging. Hugs make me feel good, protected, cared for. I hug people on special occasions and on special moments. I also love hugging my younger brother, he's just so adorable!

Hi augustine, I used to be like that too. I was more a cardboard cutout of a person, pretty rigid when it came to hugs. I was afraid of getting too close to people. Thankfully I changed that, I got rid of the afraid bit. Did you watch the video? They did these all over the world, in Scotland and New York, Korea and China and Hollywood. It was beautiful to see. So here's your hug. Thanks for being part of this discussion. ((((((augustine))))))
