We recieve a lot of spam mails nowadays and its quite annoying. At times when I dont get to check some of my mails 2-3 days, I get about hundreds of spam mails already! But, some, I dont easily delete my spam mails as I check if some of the mails I'm expecting may have gone to the SPAM box. Do you delete immediately all spam mails?

My Gmail AND Thunderbird filter everything. Gmail take care of 80% of the spam and Thunderbird the rest. I only check the junkfolder in thunderbird if it marked a mail as spam by mistake.

That's a nice feature of your mail servers. As I found out, gmail don't filter everything as a mail that I was expecting got lost in spam and it was a verification notice thats why I check spam box when Im expecting and know the source. I dont know much about thunderbird though.

I have some newsletters that I labeled (marked) as a spam, most of the times I read them first before I get to delete them. And if in-case it is not of my interest, then I just delete it immediately. It's already a habit that I'm used to doing, to keep my e-mails organized..

That is nice to know that you keep your e-mails organized. I am a disaster with my first email add but today, I'm more careful and organized with my new emails that I use in web earning sites only.

If the email is not from a personal contact or a source that I recognise then I simply delete it. I have no intention of wasting my time reading unsolicited email, which I strongly object to having received in the first place.

I have a great spam filter so the ones that I have spammed before automatically get deleted never coming in my box. the ones that go into my spam folder I double check the address then I report them as spam for further process if I get it from the ame address again. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That is good to hear Grandpa Bob. Its good to check the addresses if its unknown or not. I also do delete it right away if it gets the same address with the same message.

I used to check the spam box as well but since I got a virus from one of the links i delete everything without even looking. It's for the best because my ancient computer won't be able to take another virus.

I check my mails only once in a month. So When I open my mails I have tons of spam messages. When I don't have much time, I just delete it. But when I have some spare time, I check it first if there are some messages that don't belong in the spam area.

Back then I have been tired of deleting the spams, and keep changing my email account. Now I'm thinking of using Yahoo's "Address Guard" feature. If the spammers keep sending email to that 'alias' address, then I would only need to delete it. And bye bye to Spammers, their spams would no longer reach my real account.

i'm using gmail and yahoo, n they have a spam guard. similar with you, i don't immediately delete spam mails. i will check the subject (in the list), who knows they offer something promising

I probably shouldn't, but I do delete them all before I look at them. I don't really use my email account for anything other than GPT site confirmations (tells me whether or not my offer is credited or denied), and also my mylot discussion notifications.

No, i just don't delete them. I checked it first if there's something familiar [friends, forums i joined, newsletters], then delete 'em.

Yes I do. I normally just spare them a quick glance but that glance is so quick that I wouldn't likely have enough time to stop the delete command. It's more like delete and look or delete than try to look.

I delete my spam one email at a time, as some of my email from friends is sometimes sent to spam. But for the last two days, I have hit the delete all button instead of the delete button and have lost all of it. I just hope none of my regular email has been deleted by accident. I am getting so much spam, since I decided to try something that came through to me about "something free", it kept going, and going, and going asking questions and then promising that I was nearly through at the end of each page. Thank goodness, I had used a different spelling of my name, so each one that comes in that refers to me by name in the subject line, I recognize immediately. But I sure didn't mean to delete all until I had checked it.....oh well.....

not really. I still skim through the space to read some messages or titles. when I'm really sure they are spams, I will delete them ASAP. sometimes some messages were filtered as spams but in fact they were not. so I still try to check if there would be any real email that had been caught as spam and then recover it to my inbox.

I normally check my hotmail spam folder about once a week to check nothing ended up in there by mistake. I however use two things to reduce the amount of spam. 1. MailWasher. It's a programme that checks your mail on the servers (before you download it) and has an intelligent interface that auto identifies spam and deletes and bounces it for you. Stress free and worth the inital cost 2. Sneakemail. It's free to use and lets you create pseudo email addresses to hide your real one. You create on address or their website & the mail is sent to you via them. If that email starts getting spammed you can just delete it. I would say these two things, plus the gmail/hotmail/etc. spam filters cut down my span by about 99.5%
