Prom season is coming soon. That means lots of money spent. Nails, hair, dress, transportation. Guh, its a big headache. But the more money i spend the more worried i get.. summers coming soon, doesnt leave much time to make more money for college, and thats an even BIGGER headache. The expense of college, wow. Im gonna be broke foreverrrrr. Rez, books, tuition, meal plans. I wish i really had my stuff together and started saving before. Is anyone else stressing over their money situations at the moment? if so.. whats your solution. What you doing to come up with the money? Im currently working in an accessory store at the mall, and student wage just wont cut it.. So im looking for a restaurant job, HOPING the tips will help out a bit.

In your case,my suggestion is to know what is the important thing that you must to do.Maybe makeup yourself is one of the girls love, but is it the important thing you must do? I think if you have time to worry how can you make yourself beautyful, why do you think what can i do with my tuition. One of the important things in college is to learn independence.

Trust me dear, when you hit college prom is going to look like nothing. Depending on your degree your books can cost up to at least a thousand dollars. Classes will be heck. The papers you will have to do will keep you up all night. So Prom is nothing to college. Thankfully I'm in a lull right now even though finals are coming up. And let's not start on finals. Try to do something you like that's relaxing. I drink tea mostly or any warm drink. Most of the time though you can't get rid of stress like that and you have to push through it. This summer I'm hoping for a job doing secretary type work but if that doesn't happen then I'm stuck in a pizza shop. Not looking forward to that. But a job is a job.

You should be careful about spending lots of money. Always make a budget and stick to it no matter what or only you will face the problem in future.

I'm always stressed when it comes to paying for college. I've been in school for three years now and it seems like that every year, they keep asking me to pay for more and more of my tuition when I really can't afford to pay all of what they are asking, especially not right at this point in time. This summer I'm really going to work on finding a job so I can have more money to pay for what I need and to pay for what the school doesn't want to pay for.

hm...college. I only paid for the first year, because i didn't got an enough high grade to be get in with the tax-free program. I paid 600$ (that was in 2001). After the first year, i took the exam again, and i got in the tax-free. :) Didn't pay a cent for school since then (i saved my parrents like 3000$). In the last year, i even had a scholarship, which was about... 70$/month. Not much, but it came in handy. :) It's too bad that in the western part of the world you can hardly get a GOOD education if you're really poor. That's too bad. Prom....uhm, i never was interested in partying, so i didn't had any problems with that. :) Now, i'm unemployed. So, 90$/month. Upmh! Oh! and, if i get a job, changes are that i will be making like 200$/month. So, yeah, i'm stressed, too.

Well I'm in college right now. The second year actually. And I am so stressed you have no idea. Tuition in my college is a lot since I go to a private university. It's around $43 thousand a year and I heard that they are thinking of raising tuition. I'm really scared about this to tell you the truth. I have a few scholarships here and there and then some free money from TAP and some grants. Then I have a few loans. Now the end of this semester is coming quickly and classes are getting even harder now. Then I just finished registering for my classes for next semester and I'm pretty happy but one of my classes is like a internship. So i'm pretty scared about that too because it's an unpaid internship. And a bunch of other stuff going on right now. And supposeable it's supposed to be eight hours a week only. I'm kind of ranting now so sorry. But yeah I think I am stressed as you are right now. I didn't go to my prom so good luck in yours and have a lot of fun.

Ye, there is a gentleman named Roger Allworth-Smyth, of 16 Christchurch Lane, Tring, Hertfordshire, U.K. who is extremely stressed, but he is unfortunately also agorophobic, and paranoid, so no one on Earth knows of his plight. Day upon day he sits on the sofa watching BBC 2, worrying and fretting about practically everything, stopping only now and again for a cup of Earl Grey tea, and a buttered scone.

I am almost done with college and the entire thing was a financial battle for me. I was not eligible for any financial aid and my parents weren't able to help me. So what I couldn't pay myself I took out student loans to use. Now I cannot even get student loans! I just have one semester to go and I have no idea how I am going to pay for it. I have drained all my finances paying for the previous semester. I know how you're feeling. It is very stressful. Just one word of advice from someone who's been there. Try as hard as you can to stay away from the credit. Even the rates on student loans are getting higher and higher. Find and apply for as many scholarships as you can over the summer. Every little bit helps. Go to a scholarship search engine (fastweb is a good one) and apply for every single scholarship. As far as books, don't buy them from the book store on campus. Don't wait until the first day of class either. A few weeks in advance figure out what books you'll need (take a notebook to the bookstore and copy down isbn's or just email your profs) and then go hunting online. I've found half.com is a great resource. As far as that prom dress, you know you won't wear it again after that night so take it to a consignment store and let them sell it for you. Hope this helps. Good luck!
