When I first read the title of this one, I didn't know what to think. I understand now by reading your post, what you mean. I always make sure we eat the leftovers. I feel very wasteful, if we don't. There are certain things that my husband likes as leftovers more than others. For instance he loves any kind of pasta or pizza as leftovers. Also, most people can't afford to be wasteful with food.

When I make chicken I make a few days worth then we make our meals with it. Like the first day we woudl have chicken with rice, the next meal we may have chicken tacos, chicken salad, chicken soup or chicken over pasta.

Yes, I eat left overs. When food prices are going up and paychecks are getting smaller you have to. If not your throwing a way part of your paycheck literally. If keeps me hunger free, then I am happy with it. If other people aren't well I guess they will be spending more to keep buy food.

yes i eat left-overs. if possible i include left-overs as recipes for a new meal. witht the rising cost of foods nowadays, one can't help but to really prepare enough portions for everyone in the family. if there's one thing that i don't want to see, its spoiled food.

I don't always try to make leftovers into something different, because I don't mind eating the same thing again. There are more ways to dress up leftovers than there are leftovers, though. For instance, leftover chicken can be made into soup, casserole or sandwiches. If there isn't enough for sandwiches, chop it up and make a salad from it, like tuna salad. Whatever the food, look at it as if it was freshly cooked and make something with it.

When I cook spaghetti, I always make a big pot then put it in the fridge for reheating. I also have a fake greek salad recipe that I make that lasts me for a couple of days. I live alone, so I don't have to worry about making it interesting. If I ate day 1, I will eat it the other days.

We are not good at eating left-overs. I do not like to waste food either. So we have started making less food for each meal instead. It works well for us.

We always eat leftovers here. Waste not want not, especially in these days when food prices are so high!!! Right now we are really going through the end of the month blues, we don't even have leftovers in the refrigerator!!! The only way we make leftovers interesting is after Thanksgiving. My grandma takes the leftover chili and adds veggies and some noodles and makes a goulash of sorts. Its actually pretty good. But the rest of the year we just eat the leftovers as is. Put them in the microwave and heat them up, that's the most we do.

That is a very broad question. It would have to depend on what it was that you wanted to recreate. There are some dishes that are so easy to manipulate into a wide vareity of fine edible and exciting food. Like the ever popular oven roasted turkey. With a little creativity, you could have a magnitude of inspired dishes. One of my favorite reinvints comes from chilli. Day one you have a basic Chili Con Carne. Then you can pair that chili with the following: An egg omelet with a little shredded cheese, and diced onion. A hot dog with the works. For the manly burger cook up a hamburger add some sloppy chili on top. Cook up some elbow macaroni and add a little liquid to the chili for some good northern chili soup. Or add that chili to some macaroni and cheese. Or make a baked potato, top with the chili add a little sour cream. The possiblities are endless and if you make batches of chili the size I do you would understand way I know how to fix it up and change it. But the bottom line to any left over refix is creativity and the guts to give it a try.

Of course! I was raised to never waste a thing. Most of the leftovers are made into soup... but I also love fried rice, potato pancakes, and hash. Those are the second lives for rice, mashed potatoes, and pot roast. I also make rice pudding if the rice is plain. Basmati rice is used in either Asian or Indian dishes... I add a tablespoon of water, nuke it for 2 minutes, let stand 2 minutes, then fluff with a fork... its hard to tell it was left over!

I love left overs!! I just add something to make the meal interesting. Spices, side dishes, condiments, whatever. With soup I will add sausage one day, fresh herbs another, if it's a hot soup a dab of sour cream, it's good. ;-)

We have 'clean out the fridge day' at my house. Every 3-4 days we take everything leftover out of the fridge and warm it up and serve. We do eat leftovers for lunches though. I just cannot seem to learn to cook for just two people. I always cook for an arm and have many leftovers.

Hi cher, I like to make interesting meals with leftovers. If the food is not particularly liked the first time, then I add something else to it to make it more palatable the second time around. At times I will deliberately cook lots of meat to be used in different dishes later. A good buy on ground beef can be cooked all at once and split between tacos, enchiladas, meat and gravy, spaghetti sauce etc. Meatloaf can be reused as spaghetti sauce, tacos, or just heated and made into a sandwich. I really don't like to waste food, so where there is a will, there is a way to make it edible a second time around. Happy posting..
