Will you rent or buy it when it comes out? Why or why not? Did you see it in theaters? Do you want to watch it when it comes out? I got to see it while it was in theaters. The effects were quite good, though not the best I've seen. I did enjoy the story line, I found it engaging and original. Plus, anything that has polar bears in it who kick butt ranks fairly high in my book. I know there was a lot of controversy surrounding it, but I didn't think that the movie (at least, this installment) was anything for anyone to get worked up over. I found it rather harmless, and my kids enjoyed it too. So, we've already resolved to buy it when it comes out on DVD, April 29th (this Tuesday) I do believe.

Oh, yeah, that one is coming in the house. I missed it in the theater and want to see it. We watched Waterhorse last weekend, that was very sweet.

I really want to see Waterhorse. That movie looked so cute and fun. My kids would love to see it too, they really liked the previews.

first of all i bought the book and it is a very good read. I probably will buy the dvd, but i doubt it can match the power of imagination inspired by the book blessed be

They can match the imagination in the book, just not the wonderful and complicated story. Nice effort though

Ugh. Unfortunately I saw thew movie in the theater. I had read the book before hand and didn't think the movie was a good representation of the book. The movie ended differently and the events were out of order (compared to the book). My husband and son - who didn't read the book - thought it was great. Seems like a waste of money to buy on DVD.

See, I didn't read the book, so that may be why I liked it so much and wasn't ticked by it at all. I know what that's like though. I remember how miffed I was about Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban, for the changes and omissions, etc. they did from the book on that one.

i liked the story line until the end. I didnt like the end at all. I think they must have left it for a sequel to come. Anyways the graphics were awesome and the actors in it were also good.

I saw it in the theater too. The effect are real good. But the story line is not as good as the book. Whoever read the book by Phillip Pullman already know the cliffhanger in the end of the book. Meanwhile the movie end with Lyra hapilly will meet her father. Its a let down. Maybe they add additional ending in DVD? Hope so.
