Did you have a locker when you were in school? How did you decorate it?

In junior high and high school we all had a locker in the school's gym, where we'd go and change books for every class, or store our gym clothes or whatever. That's pretty common. We were always trying to decorate our lockers, with pictures of 'hotties', or posters of some kind...we just had a lot of fun being creative. Did you guys have a locker in school? How did you decorate it? Was there ever a problem with someone breaking into them? My lock on my locker never seemed to work, but nothing was ever stolen.

Oh wow, I am sorry Amber, that has been too long ago.. I believe I did decorate it, but can't tell you anything about it.. I do, however, remember one year when I had to share my locker and for this one class I had brought in to show some army things that my Dad had from being in WWII, one of which was the gas mask he wore..I know the girl didn't mean to, but she didn't get it closed all the way one time and the last I heard about that mask, it was being kicked in the hall.. I felt really bad, but my Dad took it well, or at least he didn't show how upset he was about it..

That would have made me sick. I'm sure your dad really meant it when he said he wasn't upset though. Dads have seen it all, along with moms, right?

My Dad was one that was more forgiving..By this time my Mom had been gone for a few years, but if she was alive at that time, I am sure I would have had the guilt trip thrown at me..

Yes, I had lockers when I was going to school. I had a regular locker as well as a gym locker during junior high as well as high school. I was never into decorating them though. Nor do I recall any of the other students lockers around mine being decorated either. Maybe it was for the same reason as mine or maybe it was because there was never any time between classes to do so, who knows? LOL No, no one ever tried to break into them, at least not that I was aware of. However my sister and her friends took over my locker back in 9th grade (my sister and her friends were juniors). I'll admit, I did let my sister use my locker. Apparently the office forgot to assign her one (or was it because juniors didn't get one? ) and I was being nice to her (big mistake), but I never agreed for her friends to use it. With three other people using it, there was no place for my own stuff so I had to lug around all of my books in my tote style bag.

We had to use locks with combinations. I really got annoyed with some of them. It seemed like they always got stuck.

I didn't have a gym locker but I had a regular locker from 7-12th grades. They changed every year. I never had a problem with anything being stolen. A couple of my friends didn't have locks on their lockers at all. Their stuff was never messed with either. Wellll...we did put an open jar of minced garlic in my friend Eddie's locker once as a joke. It was friday after school so it had all weekend to fester in there. I told him a couple of years ago that we did it. As for decoration...mine had some writing from my friends in it. I had a mirror and some photos hanging in there. For years after I graduated I would have dreams about being at school and forgetting my locker combination.

I had a regular locker too. But they just happened to be in the gym. The gym was also the cafeteria and a lot of other things, lol.

I never had any problems with my locker being broken into. I did decorate it though. I had pictures of the chipendales on it and all the girls would gather around and look at the pictures. The chipendales were male strippers back them but they never stripped down to full nakedness. They just had these horrible tight underwear on, which now I think are the ugliest unsexy things are men. I now prefer men who wear boxers lol. It's funny how our taste change over the years. I remember one of my school guards coming over to my locker and seeing my locker and asking if my mom knew I had those pictures on my locker and of course she did. Heck, she is the one that got me into them .

We had a locker in gym for our gym clothes and a locker in the main part of the school for our books, coats, etc. Nobody that I know of ever decorated their locker, that was back in the dark ages ya know.

Back in the olden days we couldn't decorate our lockers! It was against the rules! I never had my locker broke into but they used to "stack" your books on the top shelf so when you opened your locker they all fell out! I had that happen more then once!

Hi,dear Ambiepam. Actually,we don't have this kind of lock when we are in high school or junior high school ,While when I am in college I do have this kind of lockers to keep our books or some useful things in them..I do never decorate them as this is not a pratice in our school and everyone don't decrate their lockers as we don't own these lockers as our privite things ,these lockers are all as public use..so I regard it just as a culture difference between us ... Hope you are doing well.. Molly;-)

Mine had my class schedule, reminders of assessments and an events calendar. Other than that, it just had my school stuff. I decorated the books instead. Never had mine broken into, but the ones around mine were at various times. I suppose they figured nothing worthwhile was in mine to begin with so why waste their energies.

I sure had one! I loved decorating my locker every year. In Jr.High it was with magazine posters of cuties. By high school it was just a mirror inside and some makeup. I loved decorating until one summer when I joined a club which cleaned out all the lockers in preparation for the next year. It was quite messy sometimes! After that, I decorated only to a bare minimum. I loved it though. Such a shame kids can't have them these days.

Oh, I remember when I was in high school, we do have lockers on where we can keep our books and other stuff. Mine was decorated with red floral paper and some teddy bears stickers on it... I made a paper picture frame of my friends and my family there. My friend are the only ones who know my locker password so that they can leave notes there. No, I never had a problem with my locker or someone breaking in. :)

In high school I always wanted one of those really cool decorated lockers like you see in the movies, but as hard as I tried, I never could decorate it all the way. The time in between the classes were so short. But, that doesn't mean I didn't try! I hung up little pictures of my favorite rockstars and bands, some cute pictures of animals that I liked. I actually remembered that I had this little mini poster of the hamster dolls that looked like them taking over a city. Ah, the good ol' days.

I had a locker but I shared with someone a male and so no decorations for mine and I only had my books took once and that was my friend lending without asking to her other friend to left their book at home. But the male I shared with you couldn't leave candy or pop in the locker for later he always ate it.

We had lockers from 6th grade on up. It was common in my school for kids to jam their lockers, so we did not have to mess with the locks between classes. Some of the kids complained of stuff being taken out of their lockers, so one day while we were all in class the principal had the janitor go down the hall and un-jam everyones lockers. Too bad most of us didn't know our locker combination. A lot of us were late for our next class after that. I didn't decorate my locker at all. I had a mirror up in it, but that was it.

Yes, Had one from 7th grade on. Always assigned by office and had to share, but for all 6 years, shared with the same girl. We weren't friends, just she sat in front of my in room room all 6 years. So being back east, the locker was filled with coats, hats, mittens, etc during the winters. And trying to keep our books straight as to who's was whos... generally not a "fun" experience, but at least didn't have to haul our coats around all the time!

i started to have a locker when i was in grade 4 until i graduated from high school. there were no decorations in it since our school was very strict when it comes on lockers so we didn't put any decorations in it aside from putting some locker names
