Do you lick the cake batter off the bowl and spoon? I always did but then I got scared about Salmonella and stopped. Lately, though, I must admit I went back to licking off the batter, it is sooo good. My favorite is chocolate chip batter.

Oooh, I love all kinds of batter and dough. Luckily, I only make vegan recipes so I don't have to worry about getting sick from raw eggs/Salmonella. I've always liked my baked goods a little undercooked. Even my pancakes I sometimes don't flip so they're nice and gooey. :p

Cake batter, cookie dough.....Yup! I do it. I don't worry about the salmonella. I guess maybe I should, but I don't. My kids do it too.

My husband usually likes the bowl and spoon. I don't think you would get salmonella from cake batter though it is bacterial that is found in undercooked meat and from people not washing their hands.

I've been doing it for almost 50 years, and haven't gotten sick yet! Just be sure to use fresh ingredients, and only like a little. If you eat a half a bowl full, you probably will get sick! I have a pound cake recipe that I like to make. The batter is just as good as the cake.
