Honestly speaking, I'm not looking forward to the summer. It means my son going home to visit his Dad. Even though I know it will be good for him, I'll miss him terribly. It will be hard to not have him around and I'll be worried about him the entire time.

I have 5 kids, 3 are in school, 2 stay home. Logically you think the younger 2 are more difficult on me because they can't do anything for themselves. My day is spent changing diapers, making bottles, feeding them, cleaning them, etc etc. The older 3 can make a sandwich for themselves, and clean up the mess after I nag them for an hour. They can entertain themselves and clean themselves up and put themselves in bed. So why is it that my days are so much more peaceful when the older kids are in school? Because the little ones don't fight with each other, or run through the house, or scream at the top of their lungs for fun. They aren't asking me questions every 2 seconds or coming in and out, in and out. No I am not looking forward to summer vacation. I enjoy the peace and quiet when the children are at school.

I dont know what I'm gonna do this summer..I know I'll be going to see the bf before fall and the girls and I are planning a couple more "slumber parties" but other than that I'm not sure what we'll do....With my husbnad working so much and the cost of gas continuously on the rise who knows if we'll do much of anything really ya know....Theres lots of things I would LIKE to do but money is a huge factor so who knows.... As for the kids getting out of school...I can't wait! they drive me nuts sometimes LOL but I much prefer having them home ya know....

totally understand the gas prices. It is unbelievable. and the money part, yep understand that. I wanted to go to Colorado this summer to my sisters wedding and to see my parents, but I can't afford to go. Its hard, physically and mentally. thank you for commenting.

when it is june, i am like you. before i started working part time outside of the house, i used to look forward into sleeping in during the summer and not making lunches anymore, but by the middle of august, they were so bored that we were all looking forward to school starting!

My son gets out of school in 2 1/2 weeks, but he volunteered himself to go to summer school. He will not be out of school for 5 1/2 weeks now. We do not have any summer plans yet though, so it is not a big deal.
