I know this is not my usual stupid discussion, but i had to tell you guys that i got my 6 year old daughter a cat. she loves him and called him Felix. the cat is 6 months old and was a result of a elderly couple i knew and the husband died. the wife has cancer and wanted the cat to go to a good home. i have promised her a picture of the cat when she gets out of hospital. the great thing is i have promised a local farm that i will take one of thier kittens next week so felix will get company very soon! let the fun and games begin!! i hope you like the picture i took of felix today and will take a picture of the new kitten and felix next week to show you all. sorry to bore you all, normal service will resume shortly!!

Oh felix is cute. Not sure how much Felix is going to like a kitten around but just so you know in time they will be fine together. I had an older cat for a long time and then my daughter found a stray kitten that was left alone outside when temps were below zero so I let her keep it. My cat was not impressed however I had to laugh one day when the heard the kitten who had been running circles around the house crying. I went in to find my older cat holding the kitten down with one paw on her. I think it was my cats way of teaching the kitten how it should behave in the house because she was sick the kitten running around in circles. It took time but the kitten learned what it could and couldn't do and after a time my older cat tolerated her. So don't be upset if Felix isn't thrilled with the new kitten in time they will adjust to each other and you will all live happily together.

This is NOT boring. I love cat stories. Please give us lots and lots of updates on Felix and his new brother or sister as the case may be. Best regards to your six acquaintance. too. It is awfully nice of you to take a photo of the cat to this woman. I knew there was this wonderfully part of you just screaming to get out! I like this way better than your tough guy image.

I hope your daughter enjoys her new play mate. And I hope that the cats get on well with each other. Cats are a great pet to have, just got to remember they aren't babies and they and you are fine! lol. I can see it now, your daughter wrapping them up in blankets and taking them for a walk in a doll's pram!

Hi Xboxboy, Felix is lovely very handsome indeed and I am sure your daughter is delighted and will be even more so when the other kitten arrives. Be prepared for lots of fun and games then. It was good of you to tale this cat in, there would be many who wouldn't. I hope you will enjoy the new additions to your family. Ellie :D

i had agreed to take the farm kitten which i will get next week and then i got this sad story at work and felt obliged to take the older kitten. glad i did! it is hysterical! i told my wife that the addition of the new kitten will be black or white, yin or yang, no half measures!! it will either be great or a nightmare as they try to kill each other!!!!

Hey x - okay this is a deviation from usual but it is not boring! Lucky Hollie - not just the gorgeous Felix but another new kitten to play with too shortly, just be careful that Felix doesn't get upset with the new addition - I am sure you will be careful though! I think it is so lovely that you have done this and I am sure that his previous owner will be so grateful and relieved that he is in a good home! Tel Hollie we send our love! xxx

I find myself very tickled that you are now owned by a cat, Xbox! And a new one coming too! You're going to have such fun with them, trust me. And it's ALWAYS better to have two, as opposed to one - they'll be happier and healthier for having each other to be with. Felix is beautiful, darlin, and I'll bet your daughter loves him with all the love her little 6 year old heart can hold. And 6 is old enough, I think, too, for her to have her first cat. I don't know if you've ever had cats before, but I have, for mannnnnnnnny years, so if you come up with any questions, please feel free to ask. I'll be happy to share my kitty wisdom with you any time. ANd as to integrating them, the new one will most likely be just weaned, about 6 weeks or so, yes? I don't think that one that young will pose too much of a threat to the 6 month old one, honestly. Let him sniff the new one, as it will probably spend of lot of its time sleeping still, and get used to it in his own time. But I don't think you will have to keep them separate - unless of course, you're going to all be out of the house at the same time - you don't want to leave them alone together right in the beginning, not till you know how Felix responds to the new kitty. BUt I'm sure it will be fine. They'll be fast friends, I'm sure. And when you see them play together, and groom each other, and snuggle up together, your heart will be melted, and there'll be lots of awwwws being said. They'll be an endless source of entertainment and fun for the whole family. Enjoy, darling!

What a beauty Felix is! I'm sure he'll enjoy a kitten to play with, animals usually do better with companions. Think about it, we maroon them among us with nobody who speaks their language! So it's good to have a friend of the same species around! Hope you spay/neuter them, can't wait to see the two of them together!

That's a cute name, I used to love Felix the Cat....It's wonderful you were able to take the cat for her, my sister got her cat from some real unbearable conditions for an animal....hopefully the kitten enjoys its new home, although it sounds like it will be in a wonderful place :)
