I don't blame Obama for trying to distance himself from Hamas's endorsement, after all, it doesn't go along with the little fantasy world Obama has tried to create for his supporters. I also don't blame the anti Obama groups from using the endorsement against him. After all, it's our job to tear down the Obama's fantasy. I don't see it as anything surprising. Hamas is a group of thugs who think personal freedom is the cause of the ills of the world. Obama isn't a terrorist, but doesn't have any more respect for our personal freedom as Hamas does. Do endorsements mean anything at all? if they do, Obama is smart for trying to distance himself from this one. If they do, then none of us who opose him should let this one die.

Hello ParaTed, It is utterly ridiculous for Obama to believe that his chosen foreign policy adviser having met with Hamas isn't going to HOUND him through 'till November. Yes, he fired the man. YET, Obama has proudly proclaimed that, if elected, he will use the Office of the Presidency to meet with the leaders of Iran and Syria, (and other rogue leaders) without preconditions. Uh, hello Senator Obama -- who do you think funds Hamas?? Hamas is an agent of Iran and Syria. Proclaiming that he will unconditionally meet with Bashar and Ahmadineejad is one in the same as meeting with Hamas!!! This Obama gaff is almost as bad as Obama suggesting that we invade Pakistan! How can anyone who knows anything about ... anything not conclude that Barack Obama is a complete knucklehead, when it comes to foreign policy? Though, let us not forget the most important underlying question, which is: How can Obama expect to manage the Office of the Presidency when he is wholly incapable of managing a few campaign advisors??? This guy is so far out of his league that it's not even mildly amusing! As to your specific question about the perceived value or boondoggle of endorsements: Yes, they do have meaning. These endorsements indicate that certain groups or individuals align themselves with what they see and hear from the candidates that they endorse! These endorsements signal who the endorser wants to win. And, it's completely inconceivable that Hamas is endorsing Obama because he has a nice smile. So, the questions beg asking: Why would Hamas want Obama to win? How does Hamas perceive his winning as an advantageous or beneficial for their cause? Hmmmm???

It's simple, Hamas wants Obama to win because they know they have a grinning ninny who will kiss up to their every demand. Obama is nothing more than Jimmy Carter in black face.

If I were McCain or Hillary, I would pay Hamas to publically endorse him.

Good point, Tigertang. Of course, there's no reason to vote for either major party wimp now. One is just as anti freedom as the other.
