Hi There Mylotters!!! As for me, I always buy 1 new thick compiler notebook for my subjects when I was in college, 2 black pens and a yellow pad for quizzes/exams. I seldom buy bags since I have many bags to be used when I was in college. I remember my Mom always buy us a new shoes, bags (when it can’t be really used anymore), lunch box, notebooks, many many pens and pad paper when we were in elementary. Now, our younger sister will start freshman in high school so we went out yesterday to buy a new pair of school shoes and rubber shoes plus a bag. We will just buy the additional stuff once we get the list on what she needs in high school. What about you guys? What are the things that you buy first before school starts when you were studying or for your kids? Cheers!

Every year before the start of the school or college i always buy a few Note books for my subjects. A black ball point pen and a black ink Gel pen. Every year we will have to buy new set of Text books which are of the subjects in the course. This is mandatory cause we cannot finish the course without the help of these books.

When I have to take class or go to school, which I do sometimes, even though I'm not in a program anymore, I have to buy new notebooks. I have to! Otherwise, it doesn't feel like school to me. When I was in high school, my mom always let me go shopping for new clothes and new shoes, which I always hated because shoes are the bane of my existence.

Now I have the advantage of being gifted with lots of pen and markers by med reps when they do coverage.I don't shop for my students at home for these things anymore. My houise are even full of school bags that I give out to children in the province who can't afford. They should be glad even if names of UNILAB products are printed on it

Hello ! Well i always buy a top of 500 sheets of paper. i write on plain xerox paper, not on notebooks. I also buy 2 or 3 pens (usually blue). And i think that is about it for the period before school actually starts. After it start i also buy books i need for the different classes.

When I was in college, I don't use notebooks. Actually even when I was in high school. I do buy but I don't use them. I don't like bulky bags full of notebooks. I usually take note using the back of my photocopies or post-its and out it in between my books pages. What I usually buy first when here comes schooling again is a ballpen. I don't just grab a black pen and pay for it. I have to like test all the pens in the market before I go home with one. hehehe..

When I was still on college, the first thing that I ask my dad to buy me before school starts is a new pair of black high heeled shoes and a couple of new long sleeves. I'm a graduate of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and it is required for my course to be in Corporate Attire every day. Next would be a couple of fillers and yellow pad and other supplies. I'm missing those days. :(

maybe there is no need to be prepared i am 3rd year colleges but school days for me is a normal day, no need to be prepared. this is my second course maybe this is the reason why i am not excited if class will begin. usually i buy one notebook for all my subjects and a pen, i rely on photo copying i am lazy to copy from the teacher's discussions. i have lots of shoes and shirts, maybe i will acquire one school uniform but it will happen by the month of July because that month we start wearing school uniforms.

each year things change as to what they will need. our school supplies their actual school supplies up until grade 3 and then they send home a list that the parents have to buy. at home we are required to have crayons, glue and scissors for homework type projects. i get the crayons on sale and only buy crayola as they are the only crayons that last and are worth buying. of course i get new school clothes for him and i start buying them during the summer months to make it more affordable. i usually get him 4 pairs of sneakers to get through the year as well in basic colors so they go with his outfits. i buy mix and match colors to stretch the wardrobe and to make it look like he has more clothes as well. this year i will also have to buy some book covers or book socks too. and of course a new back pack and lunch box.

As soon as the summer holidays finished, we buy text-books and note-books for our kids of different standards. Then we buy new school- uniforms, shoool-bags and tiffin boxes and pens and pencils boxes. After completion of these things, we have to cover all text-books and note-books labelling the books. Now they are ready to start and join to the new academic year by going to school daily.

We do the same too! Our teachers will be mad if we don't cover all our text books with plastic cover.. lolz... Thank you very much for responding!

Simply some pens of different colors like blue, black and red to be able to distinguish the notes when writing. A highlighter to highlight the main points when writing. Some notebooks, a good ruler, eraser, pencils and of course a good bag to carry all these. And as for specific subjects like maths, compasses and graphbooks will be important:)

When I was younger, school shopping mostly consisted of buying a lot of school supplies. We were more concerned about the pens/pencils, papers/notebooks and such. Since the school supplies were pretty cheap during that time, my mom would load up on notebooks and binder papers that would last us for the whole year. Clothes and shoes weren't too important. We usually shopped for those around Christmas time. This routine continued until up to my high school years.

We just did it yesterday with my two kids. Notebooks, pencils, colors, plastic covers, erasers, folders, envelop and sharpeners. The kids of course tag along to have their on preferences if we will agree with it. The uniforms maybe later on but the shoes we had it from previous sales. Their bags are newly repaired with brand new wheels.

Hello~~~ Well, i will always remember that i will have a lot of things to buy and carry back home before school reopen. Stationery are my favourite of all. Because i love it!!! Before getting ready to school to buy my things, there will always a book list to follow in my secondary school. Then i will cancel away those i do not need it or i already had it. Went to school, there will always be a lot of people queueing up to buy their books. I will queue up and look for my things. I will always be amazed that there are a lot of books on the table. They are placed neatly on the table. These books are not for display, it is actually for the workers in the bookstore to place our books in the bag quickly so as not to congest the whole space. Well, the start of new year and the new things. It is so entirely cool and amazing. However, i'm not in sceondary school anymore. In poly, booklist is not needed and all i have to buy is still stationary. haha.

Generally we wait until we get the list from the school as well. We do get their (2 boys) school clothes ahead of time, but things like paper, and pen and such, we wait for the list.
