I'm watching a cartoon right now. This takes me back, I haven't watched cartoons since I was a child. It's been ages.I bought some cotton candy in the street last night. Perhaps you would say,"hay, that's for kids and it's pure sugar; it'll ruin your figure. " But I don't care, it was one of my favorite things to have when I watched cartoons as a child. Haha, this is great! Now I'm reliving my childhood!

There's nothing wrong with doing stuff that you did when you were a kid. I still watch cartoons and I'm 25 years old. I have always liked doing kid stuff, like playing with kids toys. I love playing video games, something I didn't get to do when I was a kid, but is still mostly viewed as a "kid thing" to do. I love watching old cartoons with my son or playing with his toys with him. I think it keeps you young.

I like cartoons too, but more serious cartoons now that I'm an adult. I usually go for ones with some sociopolitical commentary or message. Sometimes if I'm having a real hard though I chill out with an episode of the Flinstones and a bag of chips and cookies (one each). I don't do that too often, however, as it's bad for me. I think reliving some of those simple pleasures of childhood before life became all stressful is a good coping mechanism.

Do you mean "Adult Swim"?

No, I actually don't mean Adult Swim which I hate even though one of my assistants loves it. I mean more along the lines of The Pirates of Dark Water which is all about pollution or Gargoyles which is all about discrimination.

I would love to see some of the old shows that I used to watch when I was a child growing up. I miss seeing alot of them these days. I cannot hardly stand to watch what they have on televison now. It gets on my nerves and alot of it is not fit for a whole family to watch. I would love to be able to watch the older shows we grew up with.

I love watching cartoons as well. As for the cotton candy, well, I am very jealous! I love cotton candy as well. I just love the way that it tingles and disintegrates when you put it in your mouth. I haven't seen any for sale here for ages. I always buy some when the circus comes to town. Only they don't seem to come as often as they used to!

Yes I think that watching cartoons brings back lots of childhood memories, my kids watch tom and jerry and Roadrunner, and both of these are cartoons that I watched as a child. I see sweets in the shop that were around when I was a kid and I get really excited and just have to have some, only trouble is, they sadly do not taste the same. Whether that is because I am all grown up now, or whether the way they make them has changed I do not know but it is sad when it happens!!

I would NOT want to relive my childhood. It was too bad. Now, if I could relive it and changes some of the stuff tht happened, I would relive it.

I have found it to be quite the experience to from time to time to revisit our childhood. Sometimes we gain insight and personal growth, and sometimes we just become young again if only in our minds.

When we were dating, part of our weekly ritual (we had a long distance thing whereby we met only on the weekends) was a walk to the children's playground when we would proceed to go on the swings... We found it enjoyable and overtime, I sort of deduced that it had an impact on our relationship as well. We felt more like children again - happy, laughing and just having fun. I still like to watch cartoons even though my dad sometimes makes fun of me. There are some people who don't understand the importance of feeling like a kid again. Once when I was in Australia and had just gotten a guinea pig as a pet, a family friend made this remark - "Why did you even get this as your pet? You trying to be a kid again or what?" Reliving your childhood doesn't mean you had a bad one or that you want to be irresponsible or anything like that. It just means that for that one moment/hour/day, you want to feel carefree, happy and well, free from worries.

There's nothing wrong with that. It's fun reliving your childhood, if you had fun when you where a child that is.

As for me personally, I believe keeping part of my childhood with me, keeps me happy all the times. Just try doing it, you will see, at times, try being the stupid, innocent, cheeky little one that you had ever been, with loads of pranks, lots of laughter, as if, things are blooming all over, an aura of happiness saturating the air around you, just simply lots of good things, try doing things you ever did in childhood, its simply amusing :D Believe me!

It is fun to watch television shows that you watched as a child! The psychologists know that we relive the moment, feel the same feelings, as we did the first time we had the experience! I used to wonder why and how my husband could sit for hours watching the same movies and shows, even cartoons at times, but then I realized that he was reliving the moments he had with his dad! The cotton candy is not just for kids, it is ok as long as you are not eating it every day, twice a day! Enjoy yourself! When I was your age, I had a child and the other parents used to say that I was still a baby! I was the youngest parent at the preschool! Now, I must be the oldest parent at my youngest child's preschool! Some of the grandparents are my age!

Absolutely there's nothing wrong with nurturing the child in us, so to speak. It's also a way of filling up the gap of the things we missed to do during childhood. You know, I still love to watch Tom & Jerry as well Courage The Cowardly Dog with my kids!
