All the vitamins are in the peeling of vegtables and fruit so in my opinion it's better to eat them with peeling. What do you think about?

Its always depends on the fruit we choose. Its good to eat apples without peeling. If you take banana nobody can eat without peeling. But still it has some potassium in its skin. If you see the skin of the banana, you will find a thin layer in it. WE can eat it...

I always peel my fruits and vegetables. I guess the peel is good for us too, but I just don't really like the taste of it. I try to sometimes eat a little bit of the peel, but I can't really get myself to eat too much of it cause I just don't like it.

you can eat most of the skins when you have washed them thoroughly to get rid of the fertilizers. Apparently the skin has more nutritions than the fruits themselves. Obviously some of the skins you cannot use like oranges, but you can use the natural fragrant oils.

They do say that it's best to eat the peeling. But I don't like some of the peeling on the fruits and veggies, so I don't eat what I don't like.

I agree with that as2006, but, I would say, it depends of the fruits and vegetables.Like tomato, eggplant we don't peel it, just wash and slice right away but as mango, jack fruit, pineapple and etc, we need to peel them since the skin doesn't taste good!

Hey as2006 I think all fruits of full of vitamins. It is also right that if you peel fruits & veg some portion of vitamins are wasted. I take all fruits & veg after peeling as there is every possibility of germs and dirt on the peel. so it is better to use fruits & veg after peeling. pkc3000

I like a lot of different kinds of fruit and vegtables. In my opinion,it is good for us to eat them. We should eat fresh fruit or vegtables. When they become bad, we had better not eat them. That is bad for our healthy. I like apple very much. I like all of them. Just they are good for me.

I'd read somewhere that friut & vegetable peels have antioxidant properties. Some of them have also known to be rich in vitamins. Some peels are edible but most of them would not. Mostly the apples, cucumbers & eggplants can be eaten without peeling. However nowadays there is an added threat of pesticides so its very important to wash the item before cooking/eating. For the other inedible items like oranges, you can scrape the peel and use it as a garnish!

Hello, I think it depends on the fruit as well . I am sure vitamins are still in the fruit itself. I with some foods you will find more . I sometimes will buy fruit that is already peeled and put in a container. I know some fruits you cant eat without peeling ;)

I think you are right. Same goes for potatoes. The only thing is that there are alot of pesticides used so you have to be careful to clean the peels really well.

Its depends on the fruits that we eat.Like Apple,Pear..its better to eat without peeling. The vitamins in the skins is pure and natural, will benefits the eater more.Likewise..if we eat durian,pineapple..its no other way to eat just like that other than peeling it first.Hahah! Will die of choke when you try to eat the way it is..For vegetables, its the same thing but usually..i wont peel the skins of te vegetables that i eat with exception of onions..hahah!

If the food is organic, then that would fine, but now there is so much pesticide and environmental contamination in food that in my mind it is better to peel it. Apparently repeated washing and/or soaking of vegetables can remove 2/3 of the chemicals, but while commercial or home made veggie washes may kill most of the bacteria, peeling is most effective against pesticides because just as the vitamins concentrate in the skin, so do the poisons. This is part of the reason why I have invested in several AeroGarden appliances and started growing some of my own food indoors.

I try and leave the peel on whenever possible - but with 2 young children sometimes I can't. I do believe it is much more beneficial for us to eat the peel though.

Yes, I love eating apples without peeling them. (I know someone who also eats the core and the pips - in other words the entire apple, but I don't go that far!) Also potatoes are good with their skins on. Yes, I suppose I like most things with their skins on. You get lots of roughage from eating skins of things.

That may be, but there are some fruits that I just can't bring myself to eat the peeling on, grapefruit being one. A lot of them I do eat the peeling, but not all. Same way with vegetables.
