We will be going to Italy for a month and visiting Sorrento and surrounding areas, Sicily (relatives in Palermo), Florence and surrounding areas, and Rome. I would love to know your experiences, advice, etc. We are renting apartments as opposed to using hotels (cheaper and nicer than staying in a hotel). We are also bringing my daughter and 13 month old granddaughter. We are so excited!!!

That is so cool. I would love to go there. If I went i would try to viist all the hotspots. I am insanely jealous. My dream would be to cruise through the med hitting the Italian ports and the Greek Isles. I'm sure I'll do it one of these days when I have the cash.

That's the thing, we did not wait for the money. We just started planning it and we find that we do have the money. The problem is, if you wait for the money, you will never do it. Get your plan in motion, and you would be surprised how you will find a way. We cut back on going out to dinner and movies, I don't eat anymore fast food (bad for you anyway), find ways to make less trips with the car, and all that other stuff. My husband is even thinking of quitting smoking to have more money to spend there. I did not buy new summer clothes this year, either. The ones I have from last year are fine. I like buying new stuff but, hmmm, let's see.... new clothes or a month in Italy? That's an easy one!! LOL

hi there.! Right now, I'm here in Italy with my family.. it's my 4th time to visit here but we had only visited few spots.. i suggest you go to Gardaland, it is like a theme park, ideal for a family trip that you will surely enjoy.. I had already gone there three times but i had not yet tried all the rides.. LOL! Another one is the LAGO D GARDA.. it is a sequence of lakes.. if you really want to enjoy the view of it, i suggest you go for a ride with a ship to see those all lakes.. enjoy your stay here.! take care
