Do You Update Your Mylot Profile Regularly?

I noticed today that one of my friends is taking some time out to visit all our profiles, this got me thinking as I haven't updated my profile for ages. I don't really think about my profile or comment on other peoples very much unless I'm welcoming a referral. I only really look at other peoples profiles if I'm looking for their discussions to respond to I'm thinking of adding them or they've sent me a friend request.
Are you like me or do you update your profile a lot and visit all your friends profiles? Do you think we should send each other comments and read each others profiles more or just concentrate on responding to each others discussions?

No. I do not really see either my profile, or my friend's profile frequently. I see it, like you, only when I wish to send him/her a friendship request following a discussion. But I suppose mylot might well let us know when my friends are updating their profile information as it will help me to check updates from my friends, which they might not share in a discussion. I have found this is really helpful in communicating with friends in other social networking websites like ORKUT, or MySpace.

Moght be so. But it should appear anywhere in the left sidebar as most of the time I enter into mylot direct following Email notifications, so, I can get to see sorties rarely.

That's a good idea it could appear in the sortie when our friends update their profiles, it probably already does in fact, but we get so many notifications now they would probably just get lost in the sea of them

The only time when I update my profile is when mylot introduce some generic changes that affect my current profile layout. Other than customising the profile page, my profile gets updated when I approve friends and turn on notification. other than
that, I do not visit my own profile page. Neither do I visit prospective friends profile pages anymore as I just approve all friends.

I looked at mine yesterday and realised some of the info on it was out of date so it worth looking at it occasionally. I do look at friends profiles if I'm having a hard time finding discussions to respond to as well. I've also found some new interests from looking at other peoples profiles.

I noticed today I don't have a "comments" sortie.. so I added it then remembered why I don't have it, cause it stretches out the page too wide (for some reason I hate that!) - so I'm hoping I can figure out how to have the comments sortie without it widening the profile page.. I do like to leave a comment once in awhile..

I agree on Mylot our profiles are not so important, the only thing that bothers me is when people hide the discussions they've started, as that it my main reason for visiting someones profile normally.

nanacy, I have not updated my profile probably in a year. I did add a photo recently only because our friend was visiting us LMAO. I suppose we should be shamed by her discussions and go visit some of our friends. I did visit a few that I have not seen and heard from in awhile, I left a pretty and send off a PM, to say I miss the. My profile needs help big time, but I hate how hard it is to update and change around.

They aren't really very inspiring are they? They don't really contain much information to update either so it's no surprise people don't really.

Updating our profiles and looking at each other's profiles is a good way to find a variety of discussions, so yes it would be good....
I am like you and only look at a person's profile if i am looking for a discussion I know they have written, or am looking at it as they have sent me a friend request. From time to time I will look at a person's profile just because I am bored and know they have great discussions.

I only look at them when I'm looking for the persons discussions it's true, I must go and see if I have any comments on my profile to respond to.

LOL wow I have no idea when the last time I updated my profile was! 
I know its been a long time though! Like you, I really dont think about my profile and I dont think I've ever commented on someone elses profile. In fact I actually dont really check out other ppls profiles much here..That sort of thing I associate with places like Facebook, vampire freaks, myspace etc ya know, not forums.

Yes I'm more interested in peoples discussions really, the only time I really comment on a profile is to welcome a referral.

I feel bad when I visit mine because I see all the comments I haven't responded to. Though often they are just asking me to sign up to some other site.

I don't think I've updated my profile since I started--I think I forgot! 
I did add some pictures to my personal photos (I heard you got paid for that 
), but I figure it's there and it says what it needs to say! 
I have updated some interests, but that was to get new discussion ideas.

I had a look at mine for the first time in ages today and updated my about me section as it was out of date. I don't think we do get paid for our personal photo's sadly only for the photo's we add to interests or discussions.

I thought someone told me we got paid for them...I mean, I could add them to my discussions, but they really don't make much sense, except to myself. Perhaps I'll share one with you now...this is a dog I used to have, Bella. Cute but hyper!

Not really. I think I have only updated my profile about four times since I joined in January 2007. I didn't even know there were comments that had been placed there for four months as I myself is not visiting my profile that often.
Well, it's a good idea to visit each other's profile and send comments. By the way, I visit profiles only to go to their "discussions that I've started" page.
Oh by the way, I did update my profile everytime I moved.

i update mine when needed,or i find something i want to add to it.not too often,the things don't change as much for me.i think i visit friends profiles more often to see if they've added weblinks,or whatnot.

I'd say I'm more like you nancyrowina! It's been months since I've last updated my profile here but I do check on my friends' pages every once in a while. I think it's also nice if we could send out comments or greet each other on our profiles. Besides, we're also here to make friends aside from making money right? :) Cheers!

I only update my profile when the need arises. So far, I have changed my avatar three times. My current avatar is my third. I do visit my friends' profiles from time to time. I do not really send that much comments but I often send them private messages.

I actually haven't updated my profile since I joined and I don't really visit other people's profile to send them messages. I feel kind of bad though. But maybe I'll start doing that every once in a while so that my friends know that I appreciate them.

I've hardly updated mine either, I could add some new photo's or something at least. I'm going to start leaving more comments on my friends profiles I think.

i don't actually update my profile here regularly... i even hardly visit it... once i fill it in, i just leave it until now... now that you remind me, may be i should go and check my profile page... take care and have a nice day...

Yes it does update itself now since the sortie thing started working, it's nice to add things and check it out sometimes, once someone had left a floating wizard animation on mine with a comment, he just drifted across the page.

I have not even once updated my profile after I signed in mylot. Is it OK.....does it make any difference. What should I update if I have not made any changes. I never thought about it till I saw your discussion. Like you I too just look at discussion and rarely check profiles. I think you and me are just fine.......why should we look at profiles unless we have any personal interest.

I think that it is much more important to concentrate on responding to each others discussions. I think that the profile page is not very important, I only want to have my avatar, my banners, my friends, my discussions and so on.
Responding to discussions is a more important task for me.

I not bothered since I joined as it doesn't seem much point. I only look at profiles, if I've been requested as a friend to check that it isn't someone only interested in money making.
I prefer to just respond to discussions as there doesn't seem much point to commenting on the profile, maybe if mylot paid us I would.

I think that's really the reason people aren't that interested in each others profiles, you don't make any money from commenting on them or uploading photo's to them. I think Mylot should at least pay us for adding photo's to our profiles, as we'd get paid for them if we uploaded them elsewhere on the site.
