You know those commercials where it says to call this 1-800 number and order something? I will be learning how to take orders this week when people call in to order something from a commercial. I make minimum wage if they only buy what is on the commercial. But if they buy more stuff, I get commission. That part I'm not sure if I will like it. People aren't as free with their money as they used to be. So unless the extra stuff happens to be really, really good deals, I may be stuck earning just min. wage and I can't afford to do that. So wish me luck and hope it works out.

Thank you very, very much! I need all the encouragement I can get. I've never done commission sales in my life, so this should be interesting, difficult right now, but interesting.

It was interesting, but they only kept the top sales people. So I am out of that job now.

I wish you the best of luck. And, on top of everything, I am fully confident that you will do well in your job. From the way you write, I can sense that you are very reponsive and can evaluate the seriousness of the call you receive ! That will be the key to your success. Once again, best of luck to you !

Thanks, unfortunately it sounds like they want me to hang in there and try to turn the calls around if they aren't so great. I like the dog and cat food sales better where I could figure out if they were serious or not and if they aren't move on. Also my boss isn't listening in on every call like they will be here.

Cool I wish you luck with this job. It sounds like a great job just calling people but its hard to do it now of these days with people not caring to buy stuff on the phone and you will get a lot of mean customers but dont take offense to it there like that to all of the phone people who call. And you will have days that you dont sell one thing and days where you sell a lot so dont get disscouraged and stick with it. So good luck.

Well, the good thing is that people see a commercial on tv, hear one on the radio, or see one in a magazine, so they call in. I don't call out, they call in. So they should want to buy and be less likely to be mean. Take care and thanks, I need lots of luck. I'll try not to get discouraged. A lot of people are just calling for more information and they won't want to buy. So that could get hard. Take care and thanks.

This is high end stuff, so when they find out the prices, lots of them hang up. So hopefully they will be more likely to order since they called in. I think it's just luck which way it goes. I listened to one person taking calls, she had a good run of people ordering for one hour followed by a really bad run of callers hanging up. So in our country, we say it's the luck of the draw.

Minimum wage plus commission. The more I sell, the more I make.

USA in NY State over 7 dollars an hour, but commissions are often 10 to 15 per hour, as much as double. So it's not min. wage if you consistantly make commissions. Take care

Yeah it is still minimum wage, most people I have heard from get paid at least £6 with commission.

No, not internet. 17 products and they test the products first to make sure they are a great value, they've been in business since 2003. They started with only 2 products/companies to sell for. So they've grown a lot. The first two companies are still part of the businesses and all of the cpmpanies have money back guarantees, plus everyone there has to pass a background check. I go 25 minutes each day to work. Wish I could do it at home. It's legit and part of the Better Business Bureau as well as our Chamber of Commerce. During training, they said if anyone asks you to do anything unethical, report it immediately. Their business is based on honesty. If it was based on scams, they would have cut and run every year since they started. Plus they would want ex-cons not people with clean backgrounds to be part of it. Since I worked for Corrections and the Sherrif Department, the bad guys see that on my resume and don't hire me. Thanks for wishing me good luck. I may need it!

Starting a new job can be both exciteing and scary at the same time. People are still ordering alot from commercials and I think you will do just fine and then some. I really hope you do well and I wish you the best of luck. Please keep us updated on how it goes for you. Take care.

Thank you, my first day of training was yesterday. Basically the history of the company, how to sell with honesty and integrity, and the basics of what makes a good sale and what makes a not so good sale. Hiring paperwork. The handbook, etc. So far so good, just like achedemic classroom stuff, even have a school board they're writing on and we will have a written test!

Thank you. Tip on succeeding at Mylot: Try to write at least 4 sentences in a response. If you really can't think of anything, then 2. That way you get a little better money and more people also want to be your friedn. Take care and thanks again.
