Mylot loses its enchantment

I've become kind of bored with mylot recently. I had a few days away for one reason or another and actually didn't go through withdrawals. I don't feel as eager to post or respond and I don't know why. I guess things just go in cycles. I think I've become a creature of habit. Just doing it sometimes for a lack of anything better to do and because its what I'm used to doing. I've made some good friends, but frankly could stay in touch with them outside of the site if I chose to. Sometimes, I think I should give it a rest, other times I think, just plough through it, you'll get past your lack of enchantment. Do you ever feel this way or are you just as eager as the day you signed up?

I think it's probably a little bit early for me to have experienced that... though I have no doubt that I will one day because that is what happens with me with anything I get interested in. And yes, often having a break for a couple of days can really help. You come back refreshed and full of energy and ideas... at least, you can hope you will.

Most of the time I get bored pretty easily and to tell you the truth I'm surprised I've lasted this long on this site.

Probably because you're actually earning money here. Money is a great motivator I have noticed. It tends to keep my interest longer, that's for sure.

Well just like anything in life maybe you just need a short vacation. Would hate to see you leave Mylot all out. Id say take a small break see what happens. You might find you really miss the place.

Yeah, I'm thinking about it. This month may have me doing some things outside of the internet, so if thats the case perhaps it will give me the time away I need.

Whew! I guess, it's the vacation I had that made me miss mylot. I may not be logging in often to post or comment on my friends discussions due to busy schedules at work but surely, I will always log in once in a while. I miss the connection, I miss the bonding, I miss my friends..

Being here for almost two years, I've also had my ups & downs with it. It could also be the weather changes, especially in the northern half. There seems to be less discussions, & getting less responses to discussions. Everyone is probably either on vacation, or are doing more outdoor stuff instead of being indoors & on their computers.

You are right there are less discussions and less responses. I was thinking that myself. Maybe a good rush of the outdoors is what the doctor ordered. Too bad its so darn hot out.

I have been feeling the same way. I just can't find anything to respond to. I have resorted to going solely off email notifications that my friends have started a new discussion. I will exhaust my email first and then peek at interests. It was so easy my first few months to find stuff, it was all new and exciting. Now it takes 3-4 months to make payout. There are just other things I do instead of posting and responding now.

I still make payout every month, even with working full time, but I still don't make what I used to when I first started. Thats to be expected though, since I wasn't working then.

That's because you were doing it for the money. Like $2.00 a day? This has been one of my best months... and I only made $8.00... I only come here for relaxation and have a chat. Nothing else. I answer a few questions here while I wait for my game on the internet "Travian" to proceed to the next step. You have to do this for fun... not anything else. No one in its right mind would post on myLot for the money.

Yes... you could say that I am into that game. I don't know if it will last so. Sometimes I feel like throwing my arms into the air and give up. lol Like everything else in life... I am not playing by the rules and have choosen to do it my own way. As a result... I am alone against 5000 players who want to destroy me. lol I see that as the challenge. I had to create my own challenge to make things interesting. lol But whatever I do... I either take it seriously and put everything into it... or I don't do it at all. The ordinary bores me and I don't waste my time on it.

I don't make $2.00 a day. I never have. Even when I was posting all day long. I always make payout but not alot more, especially now that I'm working full time. You are really into your game aren't you?

Its my favorite site still also, but its like anything else, if I have too much of it, it gets old after awhile and I need to find something else to do.

I feel this way all the time and when I do, I stay away for a few days. I'll pop in now and then, answer a few discussions, then I'm off again. I'm not as eager as I use to be when I first joined.

From the number of posts you have, I'd say you've been here awhile longer than I have and I would think that yes, you must have been bored on occassion.

I love this site even if I don't log in that much because I'm getting busy with school as school is opening next week.It really feels great for young people like me to expand their horizons and meet many friends.

Hello kbourgerie. I can certainly understand getting bored with a website, especially if you are visiting it everyday. MyLot is a great website for socializing and making a few pennies, but if you've gotten bored with it, maybe it means you need to add more variety to your day. It helps me to get out and about on the days I don't work or to go take a swim or walk on the treadmill for 45 minutes, then do a small chore, before returning to the computer. And yes, recently I got totally burned out at a writing website after a contest of sorts ended, and I've barely been back there for the past 6 weeks. It's just that I spent so much time working on articles there during the contest, that when it was over, I didn't even want to check in to the site. Good luck, kbourgerie. I'm sure you can take a break and return to myLot refreshed and renewed.

I think you are right. Even leaving the house for a little while and doing something else gives me renewed energy.

I haven't been very active in mylot for the last couple months, I agree the novelty of it tends to wear off and we participate less and less. I used to spend about 5 hours a day in mylot, but the last couple months I don't think I have spent 5 hours in total in mylot. I am not as eager to participate anymore either. But for me I know it's because I used to not work and I had nothing better to do with my time, but now I am working again and don't have all day to post anymore. I am sure making a lot more money offline than I am in mylot so it is less neccessary for me to post here. I used to depend on my earnings from mylot and other sites I work, to pay my internet connection but I no longer need the money so I guess I have gotten more lax with participating here.

Same as me my friend, you probably know I was on Mylot for hours on end, getting involved and really putting the hours in, sometimes responding to 40-50 discussions a day, now I struggle to do 2 a day and that's on a good day. I guess it was the fact that it was hit and miss as to whether discussions were going to be deleted, and they were for no reason! So you were working hard and your efforts were being deleted, rules were made up as they went along and you began to wonder why you were bothering. Apart from my friends this site is not the site it used to be and it's putting people off.

When you work full time and don't need the money that you earn on this site its not as necessary to try as hard. I do like the little bit of money it puts in my account once a month though. It usually comes just when I need it the most. LOL.

Yes,we often lost interesting when we are similar with one thing, because when we know more about it,the less curious we will towards it. The humanity of man is curious at the fresh things,so in the actually world people often change their interesting, like the lover and others. But we can do this thing as a habit.I think now I not lost it,maybe I will feel the same as you when I live long on mylot.

Well, I have not been able to post and reply to the post of others lately. Its not that I got bored with myLot. Its just that I have been very busy with my work schedules and have not much time to open up the computer and sign in. Well, I do hope I will be able to do more postings later on. I surely miss everyone here!

Take a break, a vacation, whatever you need to recharge your batteries. We will be here for you when you return. But if you leave - I shall be one ticked off Englishman! To be entirely selfish, I would miss your discussions, even the ones that I don't comment to, and your comments on my discussions. I'd probably have to come to Phoenix and find out if they had taken you away to the funny farm. The last think the good people of Arizona need is a Brit that thinks he's a fish wandering around! We all go through this from time to time. Things will pick up. Just pace yourself. To quote West Side Story: You're never alone, You're never disconnected! You're home with your own.......

Your'e definitely one of the greatest reasons I haven't quit yet. I know you would hunt me down and tickle me with a goldfish or something. I don't think I'll quit, but I think its time for a rest.

I've been the same way lately. Lately I've had some problems of my own to deal with and have been busy. But just like you I really dont feel like being on Mylot here lately and I'm not missing it. I myself have been trying to do more things outside of the internet. I'm still logging in daily. Just not doing as much work.

Oh I definately have days like that..hell I have several days in a row like that at times...I think for me part of the problem is the neverending bullshyt that has been goin on here recently..It really REALLY puts a damper on the enjoyment of being here ya know...For a while there the trolls were really starting to be the majority here and thats messed up ...It seems to have tapered off though somewhat mind you I've not been in here the past week like I usually would be..

I think the trolls have quieted down quite a bit. I haven't really had any problems in that regard and I'm glad. I wonder how long it will last.

For me it seems like I go through cycles. Sometimes I really enjoy posting here and other times it seems like it's just one giant chore. I've noticed it really gets to me during the weekends and during other slow points here. I just have to force myself to post sometimes.

When one does the same thing every day he will get sick of it sooner or later. I started myLotting in December and kept doing it for about a month. Then I stopped doing it because I had too much to study and when I stated writing again in February it seemed to be even more interesting but then I was posting a lot for a few days to reach the payout by the end of the month and somehow after few days I just didn't know what to write about any more. Nothing interested me and I started thinking where did all good discussions go although I knew that many discussions were good but I just didn't have any more energy to concentrate on them and think what to write. So I stopped writing for a while again. I kept coming back here every week once or twice I would write a comment or two and then forget about it. About 2 weeks ago I started posting regularly again, and I really enjoyed it. It was around the middle of the month when I started so I didn't pay much attention if I am making enough money per day in orfer to get my $10 at the end of the month. I was just enjoying it here. Three days ago I realized that I needed just 2 more dollars o reach 10 bucks and I started posting very much. Now, just few hours before the day ends I really find it difficult to concentrate on any discussion, even on those I started. I know that its my own fault and I know that the history repeats itself. I think I will take a few days off from Mylot if I reach payout or not. I know that we are not here for money, but still, I would hate to have to wait for another month when I was so close to the payment. But you can have everything. So I hope that after a few days I'd become as eager as I was in December and in February and 15 days ago. Good MyLotting to everybody.

I usually reach payout before the end of the month, so thats really not an issue. Perhaps I just go through periods of burn out like anyone would on any site.

Kat..actually I've started feeling this way today and was going to just post for a few times and then get off here since I just don't feel like I did when I started. I've met alot of nice people and know its not that but i feel bored and want to do something else tonight. It maybe that i just feel I'm on this computer too much and want to do anything but read emails..LOL..who knows maybe tomorrow I'm post allday long to make up for it!

Its hard to tell. Somedays I am eger to check myLot and checked how my discussion and my friends were doing. Sometimes, I had to drag myself literally just to post a few things to do the earning and make the payment. But I still love myLot. when I had trouble, many people here eager to help me or just give me encouragement.

I agree, and thats one of the reasons I posted this. I knew I would get the support and encouragement I was looking for. Thanks.
