My home has become infested with fleas. The carpets and even the hardwood floors are teeming with them. Have you ever dealt with this problem in the past? What worked for you?

I've never had any pets, but in my old place our neighbors did and would let them roam around the complex. Somehow fleas got into our house and started biting me and my son. There wasn't much. My mother-in-law (who has a dog) suggested using eucalyptus oil and putting a little on my sons clothing and on the floors of all the openings of the house. I know that they stay away from them. It helped me, I'm not sure if it would work in your case. But its just a suggestions.

Thanks for your suggestion. I've never heard of using eucalyptus oil for flea control, but it's sure worth a try!

Besides the magnificant dog in my avatar, I have four cats. All these critters spend a lot of time indoors. Fleas? Do I have fleas? YES, I have to deal with fleas. Here's what will help. Flea traps (Home made) Put a light (desk lamps work great) over a low white plastic pan containing water and dish soap on the floor. The fleas like the color white and the light. They will jump into the pan and drown. (Really works!) Use the carpet flea powder sold at places like WalMart. You spread it around, wait 15 minutes and vacuum it up along with the fleas. Suck some moth balls up your vacuum when the bag is brand new. Vacuum daily. The moth balls will kill all the fleas sucked into the vacuum. The above will not kill every flea, but will make a noticeable favorable difference.

Thanks for your input. I will definitely be trying them. At this point the fleas are teeming as what we've tried hasn't worked. Any mass killing of them will be a great help.
