With the love you have for cats, would you tame a lion?

I know some of you love cats so much you cant live without them. I like cats alot, but im not mad enough to tame a lion or a tiger or a cheetah. Some people do tame, by bringing up them from their baby age. But in the end what happens is, when these cats are big enough to realize that their masters/owners are edible, they would just jump and chew off their heads. So, would you tame one? :P

Lions and cats are not the same at all.Lions still have the wild instinct.Remember Siegfre and Roy?Roy is still recovering from the attack.

Yea. They are not the same animal. But they are from the same family, and they have a lot in common, which makes people in to believing that taming them is OK. No, i haven't heard of Siegfre or Roy. Who are they? And what happened to them?

Instead of me trying to explain it all go here and read. cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/10/04/roy.attacked/index.html They are illusionists that use tigers(white) that they have raised all their lives.

I see it in a different light. If i were given two lion cubs just born and helpless. And i have all the resources to bring it up like a vast grassland enough money and helpers. I would not hesitate to grow them till they are able to tend for themselves. Then i would teach them to hunt and live on their own and slowly and surely release them into a suitable forest. Assuming this as a hypothetical situation. Since the cubs would die if i do not take them in.Why shouldnt i do this?

Thats what most people do. But what happens is during the time which the cub grows, a special bond between the man and the cub is formed. Most people would release such an animal to the wild. But some just cant do it, because of the bond they have with the animal.

I love cats very much but I would never want to tame a lion, I believe they are such majestic animals they deserve to be free and not brought down by we humans..they are kings.

you are right. they deserve to be free in the wild. no one should tame them.

No way! I respect them and admire their beauty and strength, but wouldn't dare train any of them. Why? Because they weren't meant to be trained and secondly, there are enough homeless domestic cats in the world to take care of.

I would not, for the very reason you stated. A wild thing is a wild thing and you cannot nurture the wildness out of it. Eventually a big cat would have to be caged for the protection of the owner and others which, in my opinion, would break it's spirit. There are some here in Florida who have illegal big cats, big snakes and other wild things...which they keep in cages...so how is that taking good care of them?
