The new research in Germany suggests that children are less likely to become sinsitive to allergens if they have pets like dogs and cats at home. They also suggests that children play out side in soil and dirt will be immune to diseases. Playing outside increases their expossure to Bacteria, virus and other germs. This will increase the immune response. Would you allow your kids to play in dirt? It may not be a very bad thing!!

Yes I have heard this as well, when I was a little girl my mother used to always tell other mothers to let their children get dirty, she used to say look at my kids they play in the gutters and they are never sick..I guess my mother was way ahead of her times, I wish she was still around to read what the experts say now...

Who woulda thunk, exposing our bodies to germs and dirt could help it! (I'm being a bit sarcastic) The human body is equipped with an immune system. In order for your immune system to protect you from harmful things, it must experience germs, allergens, viruses, and dirt in order to teach it to recognize bad things when it finds them. If you eliminate these things from a child's environment, their immune system will undoubtably have problems in the future in handling the simplest of bacteria. I'm sorry, but it pains me when I see people surprised to this stuff. I mean...how little do we know about our own bodies as average citizens to be surprised about something so simple?
