I heard about them spying on the sidelines at the other coaches and the plays they were planning to try and win the game. Do you think its cheating or smart. I don't think they would have won as much if it wasn't for them spying on the other teams plans. I really don't have much of an opinion on this as i'm not a big fan of football. I would say it is obviously cheating.

It was clearly cheating or they would not have been punished by the NFL. The Patriots are a bunch of smug punks to be such cheaters.

I don't know if it honestly would have made a difference one way or the other. It was wrong yes but this was something that other coaches that had done in the past. It's just New England, because of the success they've had, gets hit with the spotlight. Cheating is wrong and I do agree it shouldn't happen and I think now that has been taken care of. What I hated most was a bitter Senator (Spector) because his team lost to the Patriots in the Super Bowl getting involved in the 1st place when it really wasn't necessary. I think they would still be good but I think now they won't be doing that again. As far as we can go, that's all we got was what we knew at the beginning and that's it. It's a shame this gets coverage than the NBA scandal but that's another story for another time.

The one thing he wanted to do and it really touched a nerve was having a Congressional hearing and continuing a witch hunt. What he should be doing is trying to help do his part in fixing our Economy, not investigating a sport. We got bigger issues and this really got me furious. It was as if he was saying "screw the Economy and screw everyone who is losing jobs, screw everyone who is having to pay a lot for gas, let's investigate sports because that's so important." That's how I felt about the situation.

Spying on the side lines is not a new issue in football. Just go to any Friday night high school game it happens there too. It's part of the game

I don't think it was really a big deal. Everyone watches films and tapes games, apparently they just were to arrogant about it. Even high school teams go and tape other teams and exchange films. The game is so much different today with technology. Teams don't just line up and play anymore. They certainly got punished for it though.

My opinion is that they definitely cheating and breaking NFL rules by taking opponents signs for the plays. Its basically like in baseball, you knowing when a fastball is coming and where it is going in the strike zone. They knew what plays the other teams were calling, and that could easily have contributed to them winning games. Especially since that they allegedly did this during a Rams practice before a super bowl in 2001. That would have been a huge offense if in fact they did that, seeing as the Super Bowl is the biggest event in sprts, and they might have cheated during it.

I think the patriots should on been more severily punished and the reason why im mad about spygate is because my favorite team is the eagles and the patriots cheated there way to winning the super bowl against the eagles
