I am not sure about others, but i do feel uncomfortable about some foreigners. Do not get me wrong, i am not a racist or a hater. It is just that they behave differently. I was with a friend and chatting with her. She was telling about how the indians from india where behaving in her workplace. She claimed that they did not respect fellow colleagues property or socialise very well. And the accent they spoke in caused several misunderstanding. Do not get me wrong but what do you guys think? I heard some countries are deporting people back to their native lands. Do you think this is the right thing to do?

How do you think you would feel visiting in India is the question I pose to you? I believe, no matter where you are from, you are an individual first and no one deserves to be bunched unfairly (and prejudiced) into a box for judgment. I feel uncomfortable about some of our "locals" you know what I mean? I think there are a**holes in every country as well as good hearted individuals. You wonder why these people of other cultures don't socialize very well when we never give them the chance and are so clouded by our own ignorance we fail to see a human being?

And I wonder what they think of our accent? And mind you English is said to be the hardest language to learn worldwide.

You are right about what you have said. But at the same time it is foreigners who chose to live here must make the attempt to adapt.

yes, I do feel uncomfortable that foreigners can easily slip in our country. and it's because the fact of this terrorism crap. Terrorism has really ruined America, and the other countries. the other countries are kind of afraid too, but, not as much as the Americans. since we got bombed in 2 or 3 different states in one year. and that's awful if you ask me. Not good at all, and you can't trust anybody in America in the first place with all of these gangs out on the streets. That's all that we need.

It is not terrorism but the fear of terrorism that has ruined America. The fear is what the government is using to control us!

No i am not against them. I do mind them coming here. But some industries do naturally pick them over the natives becuase of giving lesser salaries. Futhermore, the lifestyle the natives have are different and it might be uncomfortable when something new happens and you do not like it.

I enjoy having tourist to my country. It is a good income for the country and persons who are in art and other industry linking with the tourism sector. People knowing and appreciating our culture is another good things for us too. I know that there are some persons who abuse the citizens but we can overlook the negatives and work on them to turn them into positive. Yes deportation has become worldwide because persons will go to another country and abuse the laws there. No I am not against deportation. What I am against is that this person will leave their birth control when they are small give up their rights of the same and then when they do something against the new mother country, they deport them to the birth one without money, clothes and then they turn on the citizens of the country. I think that anyway they did the crime they must spent their days there.

I am not talking about tourist. I am referring to those planning to go other countries to work and stay. You are somehow right about deportation but you can`t blame the country for doing it though.

If a foreigner interupts the peacefulness of a country, they should be deported! But if they live harmoniously with the local people, they should remain as long as they want to. Just hope that they act as they suppose to act in a place other than thier own.

Being from Canada AND formerly living in the larger cities like Toronto I'm use to the diversity....and of course it doesnt make me uncomfortable...as for not being able to understand any foreign speaking person..well hell whos fault is that? Seriously...I grew up in a country and province where we do our best to TAKE THE TIME AND BE PATIENT with the new comers...Granted not all Canadians are like that but a good portion of us are in my experience. And thats how it shoudl be as far as I'm concerned

This is a tricky situation. As human that respects other human no matter what is the colour of their skin, their religion, their accent/language etc etc, I often find myself trapped in a tricky situation when it comes to foreigner living in my country. Let me put it like this. You have a friend whom everyone seems to dislike and try to get away from the person as far as possible. You look at the person and think, he/she is also human like the rest of us, why do we have to treat him/her differently? What is wrong with the people today? And so, you with your good intention try to befriend with the person. Guess what happen? Your good intention is being misunderstood. Ha! People make use of you and maybe even thought that you are being nice because YOU ARE AFRAID! What I dislike most about people from other countries come pouring in is that crime rates increase-believe it or not- and more jobs are given to them because of the low pay. In my country, some areas which once WAS filled with local people is now crowded with foreigners controlling the business and roaming around like this is their actual country. I just want to live in peace without having to be afraid that suddenly someone comes out of nowhere god-knows-what he will do to you

I live in the US and we have so very many foreign people here. You kind of get used to it. As long as they are not causing problems, they don't bother me. It is to be expected that they will act and talk somewhat different because they came from another area. Anyone being rude and disrespectful whether they were native or foreign would be a problem for me.

I believe that anyone who comes to our country to live, either temporarily or permanently, needs to do so legally, obtaining the proper documentation and going through the proper channels to do so. I also believe that they should be required to speak, read and write our language fluently, and that no special exceptions or accommodations should be made for them in employment or educational settings because they are unable to communicate in our language. I recently read of a gentleman - I believe he was a supervisor for Fed Ex - who lost his job because all of the company hired employees under him who spoke only Spanish. His job description required that he be able to effectively communicate with his employees and as he could not speak Spanish, the determined that he was no longer able to fulfill the requirements of his position. That type of thing should not be happening in our country! Many of the teachers in our schools are being required to learn foreign languages because there are students in their classes who can not speak English. They must spend their time attempting to communicate with children who can not speak our language, taking precious teaching time that could be benefitting the children of United States citizens. When we go to a foreign country, no one makes accommodations for us - we must learn to speak their language, and in some countries must dress as they dress and abide by their customs or be arrested! In turn, however, they expect to come to our country and do whatever they want, whenever they want. Many receive public assistance paid for with our tax dollars while our own citizens struggle to make ends meet.

Agreed, but i think what the government must do is to create foreign schools for foreigners to learn.

It should not be the American government's obligation to provide schools specifically for foreigners. If they were to do that, the money to fund it would come from the tax dollars that we pay into the government. Why should we use money that is badly needed in our schools to education our children to create and operate schools for foreigners who come to our country? If you are unable to speak, write or read our language fluently, it should be your responsibility to secure and pay for whatever education/instruction you need to be able to do so. It should also be your responsibility to make sure that your children know the English language before they enter school in our country.

i've met one girl here living from india and she was doing very well. i really liked her. she even was showing an interesting dance from the old indian culture. and she was living like an american here. then there was this man from india that was not adjusting very well. he was accustomed to being his mother's favorite and in india it was an honor when the mother spoon fed you always. even into adulthood. i think he expected his wife to do the same thing here in america. their marriage sadly ended in divorce.

No, I wont feel comfortable with foreigners coming in the Philippines, I am not xenophobic or afraid of foereigners, in my own opinion all races must be treated fairly, they are also human being which deserved fair treatment. What if I travel to their country and received a bad treatment. I mean we should treat each other with due respect disregarding of what is our origin. We shoudl stop this bad perception about treatment of races, we should be nice to everybody. I believed in the saying that goes: Do not do unto others what do you not want to do unto you.

There are more and more foreigners to my country in these years. I don't think ti's a problem. People are different all over the world. I think we shall respect them. Learning the difference isn't a bad thing. Each race has their own virtues. I love China

not at all if they come here legally and behave themselves'as all people should. we are all a bit different so what, is it not good to have a variety so we do not get bored. we should respect each other for our very differences as they are what' makes us who we are. I have some india indian friends who are just plain wonderful.

Most of our management team in our company are foreighers, they are Malaysian, some of them speak Chinese, some speak their own language, also some use english, there are more than three languages here. I don't feel uncomfortable with it, although they somettimes show a different culture personality, after days of communicaton, our Chinese workmate could find the right way to get along with those malaysian leaders. Generally speaking, they have a sense of superiority, only these can't i accept, you are human, i am also human!I just do not pay attention to their proudness.
