Do you prefer working indoors or outdoors?

Some people like working in climate controlled offices. Feel comfortable at a desk or where-ever they spend their working hours. While others like the freedom of being in the outdoors, many times closer to nature and the elements. Where do you work, and which do you prefer?

Outdoors, at least I can come inside when I want to.

Somehow I would have expected that response from you. Here, it gets stiflingly hot - in New Mexico - so you can't breathe - unless its really really early.

Definitely depends on the weather. :) I work in an office environment, but there are days when the sun comes out and the weather is great that I would love to be outside. Most of the time, however, I'm perfectly content inside, because it's probably raining if the sun isn't out. :) Ahh, Seattle. :) This week, too, I'm traveling for work, and we're in a very different climate. Here, I wouldn't want to be working outside! It's in the upper 80s and very humid!

Hi artemis, as living in a tropical country where the weather here is mostly hot all year round, so I dislike working under the scorching sun. I rather prefer to work indoors as I could enjoy the cooler atmosphere of it. I spend most of the time working in an indoor site. I understand that it is not healthy to stay indoors all the time, so I always try my best to expose myself to the outdoor natural environment which I could breathe fresh air, like hanging around the park, watching fish swimming in the crystal clear stream at the nearby foothill, having fun along the beach.

I work inside....and like the climate controlled atmosphere..I don't like the heat that much and can take cooler temps better so in the summer here in Minnesota I would be very uncomfortable!

I happen to agree whole heartedly. I lived without it in SF-where summers were actually chilly -save for about two uncomfortable weeks. Alaska was much the same. New Mexico however - hot hot hot - as was the East Coast. My landlady insists opening all the windows and doors at night will keep things cool but I don't trust people enough for that. She tends to wear rose coloured glasses.

When I was younger I wanted to work outdoors. I couldn't stand the thought of having to get up, dress-up and having to put on make-up before I went to work. Now that I'm older, I would prefer an indoor office job. I just don't have the energy I once had for outdoor work or physical labor.

I can understand that, I thought I might an outdoor job at one time. Now I can't breathe when its really hot out - especially in New Mexico and I wouldn't want to be out and about when it gets really nippy.

So do you hang out outside after work? PRivacy is good while working - better for concentration!
