I noticed that more and more people stop cooking and preffer going to restaurants to eat... It's faster, you don't work at all, and you get any kind of food you want. What about you, do you cook?

sure its faster, you dont have to do the work and you can order what you want but its also expensive and when I want something I want it EXACTLY as I want it without have to send it back because its done wrong or theres a hair in it or the order isnt even close to what I wanted..I want my husband to be able to special order a meal and them actually DOING IT so he doesnt end up in the hospital because of his food allergy....i dontn want to have to deal with the waiting, the noise, the rudeness at times, the nto being able to be comfortable and so on.... dont get me wrong, I like to eat out on occasion as much as the next person but I'd much rather cook at home more often than not..

I agree that the food can turn out wrong, but that's why we have a ,,Favourite Restaurant'' where you trust the chef and etc...

Oh yes, we still cook at home because you can save a lot of money if you don't eat out. Since we buy our food in bulk like for 2 week supplies we get it slightly cheaper. If we were to go out to buy each meal we would end up paying 3-4 times more per meal. So cooking at home is really good for your pocket!

I love cooking, but my b/f has been away from home for awhile getting our new home and the like set up so I haven't had a reason really to do much cooking. Also he is the most indecisive person I know and never chooses what he wants for dinner so I end up picking so that makes cooking more difficult ( I just wish he would pick a dish once in awhile ) I love trying new dishes and having people over for ornate dinners.

I used to cook and did so for years, but don't that much anymore.. About 10 years ago we started eating out most of the time, for us it was so much more convenient, and the cost was about the same.. But since Tennessee came up with the no smoking law, we quit eating out, I smoke, hubby and son didn't, but they supported my right to, so we quit eating out and started eating at home again.. I have now found a few very good over 21 restaurants where you can smoke if you desire, so we do eat out there occassionally.. But now that my son and his wife have moved back home, we are now eating at home again.. So, yes, I do cook and have for 40 years, sometime it is fun and sometimes it is a drudge..

We used to eat at restaurants, as I would reach home rather late to cook dinner. Now that the price of almost everything has increased, we try to cook more often. We don't have to rush or join the crowds - our meals are more leisurely, and certainly enjoyable - except the cooking and cleaning part.

Oh no!! I still cook. Although there is so much available in terms of fast food and readymade foods , however, the fun of discovering new dishes and cooking for your family is simply something else. I love experimenting and chicken is one of my favorite. I love this site for its variety, simple and easy cooking videos http://www.ifood.tv/network/chicken/recipes

I cook almost every meal my family eats and about 75% from scratch. I'm home all the time anyway, and it is far less expensive than eating out or buying prepackaged meals. Not to mention, it's so much healthier, generally speaking anyway. We don't use a microwave either. Hasn't worked in 2 years and I don't miss it at all!

I cook. I don't think it's faster to go out to eat. By the time you drive or walk there, find a seat, order and then actually get served, I can make a meal. Eating out is expensive and not as safe as eating at home, either, and it's not as comfortable. Just my opinion.

I love to cook and do it most days, not to say I don't enjoy going out for a meal. Nothin beats a good home cook meal and when you see your family enjoying it.

Hi obidan, have a pleasant day and hope you're fine. I don't cook at all, but yes I prefer to eat outside or to restaurant because as what you've said it is less work and we just order and eat. I also notice that many people just buy canned foods just to serve fast and easy.

Before we used to go to restaurants every day for our lunch and dinner. Now a days I began to cook more and eating homely food more. It is right that you will have a choice of food without working in restaurants, but now we got bored to go out every day to have food. I got a maid in my house and she will help in cooking and it is nice to have food at home. It doen't mean that we have stopped eat outs, we will have food from hotels atleast twice in a week.

We've always cooked a lot and we've started cooking more and more over the years. Why? Because we've found that we can cook the same food better than most restaurants can make it! Even better is that we can customize it to our tastes and food allergies. There are a few places that we still go out to eat at, but we don't go out often more than once or twice a month.

I wish I cooked more, but I find myself going out to eat more often than not. If I had more time and skill to cook, but sadly, I don't.

I love cooking! It's one of my interests. I do not go to restaurants or fastfood as often as I did before because it is no longer financially practical. I would rather go to the market and personally buy the ingredients I need and cook a meal or two for the day. I think that is more practical and exciting.

That's because people need more time to do a lot of things. Nowadays, people live fast paced lives that they no longer have enough time to cook. Besides, marketing strategies of restaurants really convince people that eating out is smarter. They create the need. But in reality, it's healthier and even more economical to plan your meals and cook them yourself. That's why we prefer to cook. As much as we can. We find time to budget our meals so we can cover all of the food groups. Not just eat fried stuff all the time. Ha ha ha...Happy eating to all!!!
