Why Did I Agree To This?

What do you ask did I agree to well......picking strawberries. I took my boys out to a pick your own farm and well I normally love this but being pregnant and picking berries is not fun. We didnt get alot just enough to snack for a few days. It is cheaper most the time than buying at the store. But the kids LOVED it. So what summer activity do you dread but the kids love? Or mabey you just dread the yard work like I do?

We used to go out and pick strawberries when I was younger but I didn't like it, I didn't like all that bending. I bet it wasn't much fun for you was it? I think it would be hard to do, when your that pregnant. I seen my sister in law last weekend, she isn't due till the middle of August and she's huge, she was barely walking around, so I could imagine how it would feel trying to do stuff like that. I think the only activity I hate is the yardwork..lol.

I definitely dread doing yardwork because it's too hot here. My kids are grown but I used to dread taking them to the playground because I always had to fight with them to get them to come home so an enjoyable time usually ended in tears. If they had it their way they'd still be there!

When I was pregnant with my kids I was so big I could'nt even tie my shoes. I could of not done what you did picking strawberries. But at least the kids had fun doing it. I have to buy all my strawberries in the store we dont have a place here where I live to go out and pick the strawberries. I bet the strawberries taste a lot better when you pick them yourself.

I forgot to say the summer activity that I dreaded with my kids was taking all four of my kids shopping with me. And I also hate doing yard work.

Honestly, I dread taking my kids to the pool. I don't like sitting out in the sun and it's stressful with 2 kids at the crazy hectic pool. I don't mind it nearly as much when my hubby joins us. There's a million other things I'd rather do than be at the pool, but it's part of summer and the kiddies love it!

Haha..... that was my first thought, 'picking strawberries? pregnant?'. Glad the boys loved it. My dreaded activity is going to the swimming pool. And we do it all the time. My little guy is fighting potty-training (pooping) so I still must put swim diapers on him and what a pain that is. Plus dealing with the wet towels and changing clothes so the car seat doesn't get wet, plus the swimmers vest he wears that is too big to put in the batheing suit drier so it must go in the truck sopping wet. It is such an ordeal. But he loves it so I do it every chance I get. ...... oh and did I mention the process of sunscreening and remembering to reapply.... I could go on and on. If only we had a pool at our house, but then I would have a whole set of other problems. The ones I'm dealing with now are only temporary.

Oh yeah that is a pain getting little ones ready for swimming. Its nice having my own pool and my kids are old enough to take care of themselves now. And sunscreen is something we dont use much of. We are lucky not too burn.

You are blessed. My son got my husbands skin and burns easily. Sunscreen is something I've never had to deal with until he was born.

its when they want us to go to the beach..they like the beach and wish to live near ithow ironic..when im still a kid i like swimming in the beach ..but as i grow old and have kids ..it does not possess any appeal on me..the hotness and whatever...and when they do..i kind of made some alibis not to go with them but they want to go as family especially my husband who loves the beach also...i like the beach but not on swimming just strolling during the afternoon and feel the breeze touches my skin...

I loathe yard work! I get too many blisters from that. Well as far as loathesome tasks that I hate but my kid loves. Let me think. I can't think of any. She loves pretty much everything I do. She's not a big fan of taking baths. But those are not optional.

You did a good thing going to pick your own strawberries instead of buying them out of the store. Even if it was just enough for a few days. That will be money saved compared to what they might cost in the stores right now. Have a good one.

LOL...Ask your dad to come over for the yard work. He's a wiz!! :) Anyway, my kids love Six Flags. I hate it with a passion. I have been working a lot so I told them I would take them next week. Why again did I do that? The things we go through for our kids. Sheesh!!

I really dread boat riding, it frightens me a lot being in the middle of the sea with all the big water around me. Oh no! I would simply close my eyes and pray till we reach the island. But the kids love it and they would all yell and such a great fun to them!

Oh I love boating but just on Lakes as we have no seas near us. But I know what you mean we have been on lake superior and that can be scary win you are surrounded by nothing but water.

well, i don't like doing yard work as well... i can understand that picking berries while pregnant must be a daunting task for you... i don't have a child yet... but when i do have one, i think i will take them to a park, zoo, museum or art centre during summer to make them appreciate arts, history and the nature... take care and have a nice day...

It would have to be picking Blackberries I hate having to make sure there is no snakes around as we pick them in the woods but if they don't get picked no jelly is made so I go do it.You have a great evening. It sounds like you had fun with your boys even though you dreaded it.

I can just imagine that picking strawberries while pregnant is not up there on fun things to do.My kid is all grown up and then some. Summer activity for me would be going to the beach with someone else who wants to stay for hours. I sunburn easily and after so long with sun and water I get one terrific headache. when I go by myself I do not stay for hours and then its fun. lol.

Mostly the yard work. We took our pool down last weekend, and it had been surrounded by lots of rocks, so the whole family spent all day Sunday picking up all the rocks that were around the pool. This weekend I have to move our existing sand box to where the pool was and sod that are where the sandbox is now. I have to get it done this weekend because we are having a 4th of July party.

That does not sound like any fun at all. Those darn rocks can be such a pain. We got them around our pool as well but we have no plans of taking ours down anytime soon. It stays up all winter just empty of water.

I dread cleaning the pool, but my daughter lives in it...lol. It's just one of those inflatable ones, but it's a pain to keep clean. Last year we didn't have one because she wouldn't help me keep it clean. This year she has promised to so hopefully it will be better. I have a hard time handling it when it is real hot out, so I need a hand from her.

We had one of them they are hard to keep clean. Mine is bigger now and has a dual filter system so stays pretty clean. The chlorine helps too.
