Artificial sweeteners

I hate it when manufactures and supermarkets label their items 'no sugar added', as it give a wrong impression that the items are healthier and better for you. In reality, this no sugar is replaced with artificial sweeteners which in my opinion is much worse. I remember reading an article about the long term effects of artificial sweeteners - in mice this caused cancer. So I hate to think what it might do to humans. What are your views on this matter?

hi all that hoopla about artificial sweetners and ca is so much hooey as it would take a ton of the stuff to do any damage to a person. this allhas been disproved by a numberof authorities and these sweetners are a real boon to all us diabetics who cannot process sickeningly sweet food. my view is that one article does not upset me as I have read a zillion others disproving that article. so I go ahead and enjoy food what is sweetened by splenda and my health is just fine thank you very much.

Yeah I guess it has pros and cons. I sometime used this when I am drinking coffee and I need to remove the bitter taste of coffee. But then I seldom used this since there are reports indeed that proves that in the long run these artificial sweeteners in the long run could have some negative effects on your body.
