i wasn't really a fan of second hand shops. i used to think that the stuffs they sell are junks and worthless. it was a friend of mine who introduced me to it. at first, i just looked around and observed the people there. to my surprise, there are really nice stuffs in such shops. not just nice but really cheap. anyway, i had been to a second hand shop two days ago and bought 4 pieces of huge pizza plates. i was really satisfied with my buy. how about you? do you like or hate such kinds of stores? anne

Most of the furniture in my first apartment came from secondhand shops. My roommate and I were able to get a perfectly good dining set for about $100, and I got a lovely bedroom set for perhaps a little more. I haven't seen a store lately around here that sells furniture, though, but I do like to go to the thriftshop and buy paperback bookds (fill up a bag for $1), and rummage for things for my glassware collection. I sometimes pick up a couple of things hoping to sell them on ebay, as well, but I usually end up keeping them.

i pretty much only shop at thrift stores because prices are so high everywhere else. earlier in the week, i stumbled upon a thrift store in my area that was having a half price sale! you are right, some stuff that they have is junk, but there are also some treasure to be found!

I love shopping at second hand shops. My hubby now works in one too. He is amazed at what people will donate. Most of the items I find are in perfect condition and often brand new. It is great to find a bargain.

i am a single mom of four children and i am a fan of second hand shops. though i still buy some brand new stuffs. for example i need a bike for my son then i would rather go to a second hand shop, it is expensive to buy a new one. if they need some clothes to use for dancing at school programs ay... sa ukay ukay ako buy lol. so there are things i buy on second habd shops and there are things i buy brand new.

Wow maryannemax--haven't seen you around in ages...glad to see you back!! Sadly there aren't too many shops like that here anymore, but when there was to be honest the only things I would buy would be books...I sometimes came across rare editions to boot printed in the late 1800s or early 1900s...to me THAT is a treasure to find!

I am a big fan of second hand shops I have had to be..they have some great stuff for a real deal. They have some junk as well some of them but alot of it is good, some new and worth the low price for it. I bought my sister a winter coat like new for only a $1 back in Jan because she outgrew hers so that saved us a bundle.

Hi There, I really do like going to second hand shops. I find that there is always something good to buy there, and the price is usually right! I sometimes buy from there and then turn around and sell what I bought on ebay after I have fixed it up. I end up making some pretty good money doing that. cheers,

Although I do not take the time to frequent second hand shops very often, I do think it's fun. Plus, a person can find very nice, nearly new things in those shops. I almost bought a bread maker in one one time. It was still in the original box and had the pamphlet to go with it. I changed my mind and didn't get it. The reason I never bought one in the first place was I was afraid I'd get stuck with it and not have any place to store it. And I still worried that would happen. Anyway, depending on which second hand shops you visit, you can find some very nice things.

maryannemax one mans junk is often another man's treasure so shop with an open mind, I have found some good furniture for hardly anything in second hand shops. just keep searching and you will find some good bargains. I like shopp;ing in second hand stores, its fun trying to find a really good bargain too.

I am a great fan of the seconds hand shops. There is a huge demand for second hand stuff in my city. I always prefer these things because we get all the things we want and that to at a very low price. We can even bargain for the lower prices than the previous price. Many things from pin to pajero are available here.

Well as a child I thought I would die of embarrassment if I was caught in one of these stores! As an adult I not only go to thrift stores but also yard sales. As they say "someone's junk is another persons treasure". Especially with four children, it may take some time to sort through things at these stores but you can really find brand name items at nice prices.

I also have a friend who is not fan of second hand stuff but I always invite her to join me in second hand store until I she finally appreciate the second hand things. She started to buy clothes and some shoes. There are lot of stuff that are very useful in second hand shop but you also need to look carefully in what you buy because some has damage but sometimes I can still see some items that look so new and still have price tag when it is new and I think that is the proof that the item is still not used by the first owner.

There is absolutely no way that any one could live by just buying fresh stuff and keeping it forever . Unless of course that you are a millionaire :)) . Nothing wrong in second hand stuff . A friend of mine bought a beamer 2nd hand which ran like 5000 miles for 3000 dollars talking about steals . WE all buy stuff and sometimes we don't like it , or sometimes our partners don't like it , we can't chuck it in garbage ! Second hands are always useful !
