my children study at a school 5 kms. approx. away from the house, so occassionally if they miss the school bus me or my wife can drop them at thte school in 10 minutes and we also have short cut to the school where we can avoid the heavy mornign traffic, aint that nice?

You are very lucky to travel only that short distance to send your children to school. We live away from town and we have no choice but to send our children to school every morning. So my wife and I take turns driving each day. Sometimes with extra classes we have to send the kids twice to attend extra tuition so we usually plan it so we also do the household shopping along the way.

My kids school is so close that if my kids miss the bus they can grab there bikes and get to school easily. The only reason they bus is because they have to cross a busy street.

well i don't really know the distance but my son's school is quite near too. if the school bus leaves, then we can go via the public bus and reach within 30 minutes even if a traffic jam. so i guess maybe a 10-15 minutes journey. it's really convenient that his school is near as we can go to his school really fast if anything happens. it's for this reason that we chose a school near. of course, the school itself is good as well.

It's about 4 miles, which is about 6.5 km. They take the bus, which gets them there just when the school opens or about twenty minutes before morning activities start. I could drive them, if needed, but with the gas prices the way they are... plus they like talking with their friends before school starts anyway;)

Our kids school is 10 minutes away from our home, it is 5 kilometers and have lots of traffic in the morning and in the afternoon. The good thing is, they have a private service which we pay monthly, so when they wake up late in the morning, the service has alloted 5 to 10 minutes waiting time, so they can still have their service going to school. The driver is also good because he found a short cut way that they usually take in the afternoon since it has heavy traffic in the afternoon than in the morning.

Yes, that's neat. We have the same situation. We can go down a side street to get to the kids school to drop them off and totally miss the super busy street with everyone going to work and the other school kids. So I think the kids school is about one mile from our house, maybe a little more but not by much. It is within walking distance and the bus won't pick them up because we live too close to the school. We take them to school everyday and pick them up because we are not comfortable with them going alone, not with the world the way it is!!

Oh my house is so near that we just walked to it everyday. Since we don't have a car we opted to find a place near the school where he is attending. That is why we are very relaxed in the morning since it is so near.

My daughter recently graduated but her school was about five minutes away if I drove her. Because we live in a rural area though, she had to catch the bus an hour before she had to be at school so the bus could pick up kids in many different, far away areas. I used to end up driving her more than she took the bus since I could easily do that on my way to work.
