How often do you get the urge to just take off on a holiday ?

Hi there alokn99! I always have the urge to take off on a holiday. I only get to have the chance to do this during semestral breaks. I teach in a university and I have to work 6 days a week for almost 5 months. Then we would have a 2-3 weeks break. After that 6 days of work again for the next 5 months. That was how it has been for the past 8 years I have been with the university. That is why everyday, I always feel that urge of going on a holiday.

I have to drive past the airport every day on my way to work. And every day I consider just going and getting on a plane and traveling somewhere instead of going to work. I know I never will for many reasons (it's expensive, I'd like to keep my job, I never have anything packed, etc.) but it always seems exciting and spontaneous! I love to plan though! So I spend lots of time online planning trips that I know I'll never take. I pick out how I'm going to get there, where I'm going to stay, what I'm going to do. And I figure out how much it will cost me (which is always way more than I can afford... which is the reason I never end up going on these trips.) But yah, I just have fun planning.

quite often these days.. i want to just escape everything right now and start a new... i dont want a holiday... i want a change in my life.

I'm a workaholic, which means I go to work even during weekends...i'm too driven which makes me forget to live my life at times...There are times when I have the feeling that exhaustion is on its way...by then I take weekends off and explore places that are far from my own...

I never get the urge to take a holiday because my life now itself has become one long vacation which i am enjoying to the hilt.Am i not a lucky guy ?

I usually take off once a week. I get the urge all the time. I would love to just take off all the time and get paid.

at least once a week but i haven't actually done so for about 7years due to work/family/financial restraints. Its nice to have a dream tho eh?
