He was definitely not a Christian. The word itself had not been coined in his lifetime. He was a non-practicing Jew, just as some of us are non-practicing Christians nowadays. Cheers and happy mylotting

Jesus was a practicing Jew because he went to the synagogue every Sabbath. He was often teaching in the synagogue on those time.

Then why was he crucified? If he was a goody goody Jew who agreed with every principle of Judaism, he would have been an honored rabbi. But Jesus did not agree with them. On the contrary, he was their biggest critic. He even permits his apostles to pluck the ears of corn and eat them on a Sabbath. Yup, he was a Jew, but again, he was not a Jew. LOL He would go the synagogue alright, but to debate, and what hot debates. Remember that rant against Pharisees and Sadducees? "Woe to you........" and so on. I just loved that rhetoric. And taking the whip and driving all the merchants out of the temple? Yup, he was circumcised alright, visited the synagogue, kept the feast, and many things... but certainly did not swallow all the principles of Judaism. Cheers and happy mylotting

I don't think Jesus would like to be tagged into a religion. Religion shloud not be the indicator of faith but it should be our personal relationship with Him.
