what to do when you are upset?

I have to say I am not that happy these days. I have been struggling to get an internship. And lately I just lost another chance to get one because I can't go to the interview due to the time and place. Besides, my sensitivity is up again, which cause my issue with my mom coming up again as well. I just don't feel quite well now. I am just staying at home while feeling no sense of belonging. Last night, I kept watching TV shows without going to sleep. That's what I will do when I am upset, try not to sleep until I can't hold any longer. I know it's not good for my health. I just can't help doing so.

First i cry and get some emotion out, then I turn to God. (Which probably should be my forst thing). I pray. I turn everything over to Him and wait. I always ask for his peace. That is important. If I dont I stay worried and try to deal with it myself and alway mess things up. God opens doors, he gives us strength. Trust in Him. All will be ok.

Hey paisleylass. Sometimes I do hope that I believe in god so that I can have something to support myself. The power of this faith do make me feel incredible. Yet, I don't believe in any religion. I am glad that you have God to support you. Thank you for sharing.

Most time, its my work..with ontime deliveries and work loads. I try to divert mind on music and i feel better. We need to manage depression, as it is part of life in busy world. But if we concentrate, we can manage it. I does it through my yoga, listening music and going out on vacation.

, thanks for your reply. I post that when i was still a university student, sophomore i guess. Actually i haven't been on mylot for about 2 years. I am quite surprise to receive your response. I am at work now and these days am working like hell to prepare file for a meeting. Well, this time, i just wish i can have 48 hours a day to finish all the work though. I listen to music too when i fell like having some energy back and concentrate in my own thought without being disturbing. Have a nice day yourselfit's my time to have some sleep.

Sometimes life is so unfair and no matter what we do nothing seems to be good enough. I have had my share of these and it is easy to feel worthless in these situations. One thing that comforts me is the fact that these episodes pass and are replaced by good things and good times. I just allow these bad times to pass without getting too damaged by them.

I agree with you. But whenever it's something that related to the relationship with my parents, it hurts me really bad. And I always need some times to recover. I think I will just hang on and wait for the good times and good things. Thank you for your thought. Enjoy your days.

Having a long sleep can help me feel better to some extend. It just can not eliminate it. I still need some little extra.

when myself is in distress I would like to use some of the following methods to bring me out of the situation: 1. Go for a long walk alone and enjoy the nature and take this point in consideration what nature has been giving to all of us free of cost without any ego, selfishness and respect e.g free air, free sunlight, natural plants and herbs and so many lot of things. 2. Try to play with children preferebly of adoloscents age as the children of this age group give very innocent smile without any greed and demand. Their smiles just take away my anger, distress etc. 3. Read good material on literature may be religious or someone doing an extraordinary thing etc. As just today I read a story in newspaper where a brilliant girl ( a gold medalist ) got an arithritus attack and could not move but just a few days back after a successful surgery she is learning to walk agian on her feet after a long 19 years . Even she had applied for mercy killing of herself. But today she is full of faith and confidence and she has taken every odd thing in her stride and started moving forward. 4. Try to do some YOGIC exercises of breathing exercises as it improves blood circulation etc.

Thank you for giving me that many advises. Your words gave me some inspiration. I think when I am badly depressed next time, I have some new ways to fight with them. I guess you are an optimistic person because you try to release yourself in those ways. Thank you for sharing again. Enjoy your days.

I usually think about things I like and try to do them. When I am depressed i stop thinking about what i have to do and start doing just what I enjoy doing. You should spend some time with your friends and have some fun, or if you enjoy it better, you should have o long walk in a nice place trying to figure how to get over him.Live is just to short to live it like this.I just do a crazy thing that reminds me how beautiful life really is.

At that time, I really want to talk to my good friend Rachel. However, we are separeted bacause we are having a holiday now and it's kind of difficult to contact her. That's part of the reason why I feel so bad because no one is there to listen to me. Luckily, I can still talk with some friends through messages. They help me a lot. It's just good to have friends there.

Hey, don't be too hard on yourself. You have to control yourself, we all know that what you are doing is not good for you especially to your health. Try to have self discipline, talk to your mom seriously, and try to make it work. Do everything that you can for you to get your internship. Be strong. After all, you were born in this world alone and strong...

Hi gelotan. Actually I argued with my mom really seriously about a year ago. And then things become better. But things just seem to be will not be fully recover. I think there is something that I can't move away. I don't know. It hurt me really bad sometimes. I think I can't let all those things go now. Maybe it needs some time. BTW, I love your last sentence. Thank you for your response.

Try to think postively about your situation. It's probably the best thing you can do. It's hard when you want things to turn out a certain way and you have no certaininty whether they will or not. I have been there myself many times.

Yeah, something is just out of our contronl. Maybe I feel bad because I want things to happen in my way while they didn't. Sometimes, it makes me to feel great when I let things go. Thank you for your response.

Sorry to hear you are so upset, I hope you feel happier soon. When I am upset there is a few things I do, depending on how upset I am. Don't know why but I like to have a nice bath, that helps put my mind at ease. Or I go for a drive, good to get out of the house. Talking to my best friend really helps me, knowing someone is there to listen and support me.

Now I am at home and it's somewhat difficult to contact them. However, I do send some messages to talk with them. It help me feel better to some extend. Thank you for your kindness. Enjoy your days.

When I'm upset I either pray or just do something mild to pass the time because I know the upset will pass. Just wait a while for it to go and then just continue trying.

A lot of people choose to pray. It's really good for you guys that you have god to be your company. To me I can't just let the sadness to disappear. I have to do something, even just something silly. Maybe I need some inspiration to help me figure out how I should face them.

What I usually do is write. I have a journal that I keep. I write what is on my mind, poetry, and sometimes what I would say to the frustration if it was a person that was frustrating me. You'd be surprised on how much better you can feel once you put words to your frustration. DCMerkle

Hey DC Merkle. When I am upset, I have fragments of what I would like to write down. However, when I would like to take action, those fragments will just become not as powerful as before and I lose the interest to write them down. Yet, I do have a journal of myself so that I can write down something when I fell like to. Thank you for sharing. Have nice days.

I'm feeling the same way that you are. And I don't really feel like doing much lately. Sometimes I try to sleep off whatever anger or sadness that I may be feeling. I'm not saying that it helps, but being asleep helps you be away from your problems. I listen to music to try and block out most things.

Yes, I do those things as you do. That's why I first keep myself from sleeping. Because then I can sleep for a long time, regardless of what will happen. At least I can bolck those things away for some time.

what type of interests do you have? what are some things that you can do that give you that relaxed, clear headed feeling? Is your head racing? are you having problems organizing your thoughts? I ask because those, in my experience, are some key questions. Your interests, do you enjoy going for a walk? if you do, even though it may be hard, force yourself to go for atleast a 10 minute walk in a place you enjoy. Push all thoughts aside, and just enjoy your surroundings using your senses. If you are having problems with your thoughts, racing or unable to organize it all...grab a notepad and pen, go somewhere outside, the park, the lake, a grassy hill, etc. and just write. Don't think about what you want to write, don't try to order it to make sense, just write, whatever pops into your head, in whatever order, write it. Simetimes, all we need is just to get it out either verbally or even written can make a huge difference. Biggest thing. Don't dwell on the problem. Don't think about the problem...as the saying goes...Think of the solution, not the problem. If you dwell on the problems, they will just seem to get bigger, and they never get solved. if time is an issue, pick a few days out, a few weeks in advance, where you can arrange to make sure you have the time slots available, with the location, if it is a matter of not having a vehicle, what about taking the bus? or make an advanced arrangement with a family member or friend. ok lol i'll let your eyes rest, if it doesn't help, hopefully it will spark a few idea's for what might help

Thank you. Really thank you for those kind words. You really taught me a lot with those words. Maybe the point is that I don't really know what I would like to do. The key might be just to arrange my mind and really face the problem to seek for a solution. But when I am extremely upset, I will keep watching movies and shows so that I will feel tired gradually while there is no need to use my mind. Now it seems that it's the time for me to use mind when I am upset. Thank you for sharing. Have blessed days.

I do that from time to time. I just prefer to fall asleep or maybe just let time goes. By doing that, I fell better afterwards. But I think the most important thing for me is to work it out.

when i feel myself frustrated, depressed and upset then it automatically turns in to some kind of anger which is poured to any person even me sometime. When i get upset i listed sad song and want to remain along and enjoy that pain in myself.Sometime even i try to hide it and forget it. But even i forget it i do recall it sometime in future. But when i share it with my partner then i feel so good and relaxed.

Hey there. I can understand that. That's what I do sometimes. I just indulge myself in my own world, letting myself do something that's even not that good. I think whenever you are willing to talk about those sad things with others, it means that you are ready to let it go. And besides, talking about those things with others can reduce our pain. Thank you for your response. Enjoy your days.
