Of course, everyone heard of this phrase, but did you know its actually a scripture from the bible. It says in the book of proverbs- "A merry heart is medicine to the soul." I really believe that and I remember reading a story about this man who was diagnosed with cancer. He rented alot of comedy movies and stayed in his bed for weeks wantching and laughing. When he went back to get tested he was cancer free! Isn't that amazing! I know that certain endorphins are released from your body when you laugh, and I heard that some of them are really good pain relievers.

That's great! I didn't know about the boost of energy. Wouldn't it be funny if when people went to the doctor that he wrote out a presciption of funny movies to watch and joke to read?

That is certainly an amazing story. Do you remember where you read it? I would actually be interested in reading it. Laughter really is great medicine. We should all laugh more. What a great way to a healthier life.

Wow,I did not know that. I do believe that laughter is the best medicine. When we are happy the feeling is so light. There is always that breathe of fresh air.

"Sardarji" jokes are very popular in india. Though at first glance they look like ridiculing one particular group of people (Sardarjis belong to the Sikh religion), even the Sikhs enjoy these jokes. One of the jokes : One sardarji was travelling by train. The train stopped somewhere due to some engine problem. It was a very hot and humid day. He looked out. There was a small stream going. He thought of taking bath there. He got down, went to the stream. He had just a towel on - as it was a public place. He started bathing. Just at that time, the train problem got sorted out and it started moving. The sardarji came running to the train. He could not get into his compartment. The nearest one was the ladies compartment. He got into it without realising it was a ladies compartment. Everyone there started laughing at him - because he had only a towel on. The Sardarji blushed and so embarassed, he removed the towel and covered his face!!!

I've heard that it is too. I do agree with this because I know a lot about sadness. And all it takes to brighten up my day is something funny or inspiring that catches my attention. And in moments like that I know that there will always be a lighter side to life. You just have to let it in sometimes so it can chase away the darkness.

I read about that man, too, and found his experience to be amazing. I do agree that laughter is good for the body as well as the spirit and I also believe that there is power in positive thinking. I've also read about how a positive attitude helps people to overcome illness and the sometimes bad effects of treatment.
