I am trying to buy some filters, a lens, a tripod, and a remote for my camera and I am starting to get extremely frustrated. I'm having a hard time finding everything that I need that I can have shipped from one company so I don't have to pay shipping 8 times over for one purchase that I feel like I should be able to make from one site. Where do you buy your photography accessories? Where can I get the best deal? Do you have any discount codes to enter at checkout for any of these places? I just got my stimulus check in the mail and it's burning a hole in my pocket, I need new photography equipment for my Canon Xti!

I get all of my gear from Amazon. The only things I haven't were my XT (when I first got a DSLR), my UV filters (usually just a last minute realization that I forgot to order one w/ the lens), and my tripod. Everything else has been Amazon. Usually the best deal, and you can typically combine shipping if everything's from Amazon.

Amazon was actually the site that I was talking about that was annoying me. Every single item that I found that I wanted was only offered by another company so of the 7 items I wanted to buy, I was looking at $70 just in shipping.

No kidding. I haven't run into that kinda issue very often. I had to get my 40D and the filter for my 28-135 separately, but in the end it was still over $350 cheaper than what Best Buy and Circuit City were asking, so in that case, I'm happy to dish out separate shipping.

Yes, that was 100% unsuccessful... I also tried eBay and the items that I want are selling for more than retail even is on there.

Just thought I'd stop in and apologize for not responding to most of your discussions lately, as I don't know much about photography. I read them but don't understand most of it, I'm a point and shoot digital camera person. Have you tried http://www.calumetphoto.com/? They seem to have a lot of what you are looking for and have a clearance area, too!

Ok! Let me try this again! And I hope I don't get logged out this time! There are a few sites I use to buy photography equipment! There are a lot of scam sites out there so make sure you research and read reviews about any site you use BEFORE buying from!!! The website I have had the best experience with is http://www.sigma4less.com They have the absolute best prices! Most cameras are hundreds of dollars cheaper on that site than they are on other sites! Their customer service is fantastic! Any questions I've had from them, I've gotten e-mail responses from right away! I've also used their phone support once, and they were very helpful! And their shipping is so fast! After placing an order, it always arrives just a couple days later! I absolutely love this site! When ordering camera equipment, this is always the very first place I'd check! I would also recommend http://www.adorama.com While their prices aren't as cheap as Sigma4Less, they do have a much better selection of products. Adorama has the best selection of affordable filters I've found! Another great site is http://www.bhphotovideo.com This site is HUGE! If you can't find something on another site, chances are this site has it! So yah, I use Sigma4Less when buying cameras, lenses, tripods, batteries, and memory cards. I use Adorama when buying filters or items like lens caps, body caps, remotes, etc. And I use B&H when looking for something rare that I can't find on any other site. Yes, you can do a whole one-stop shopping order on either Adorama or B&H, but I've found that Sigma4Less's prices are so cheap that it's actually better to make separate order to buy whatever you can from them. Even though you have to pay more shipping costs, it still saves you money!

I just typed out a very long, elaborate response with links and information. But then when I went to post, MyLot logged me out! I don't have time right now to retype it all because I have to get to work, but I will try and remember to repost it tonight for you! If I forget, just send me an e-mail or private message to remind me!!

If you haven't already, check out adorama.com. They're a great shop and I love buying from them. They have an excellent selection and are pretty good on pricing. Good luck spending that cheque -- I'm sure you won't have a problem!
