I grew up with a Mother who loves gardening but I only assist her, I have not tried planting my own before! This is our( My husband and I) first year to grow vegetables and fruits...At first, I thought we will not have any luck on it but, I was amazed that we are eating now vegetables from our own garden..The feeling is very satisfying, I fully understand now my Mom, the happiness she felt before since I am feeling the same way!

Wow, Congratulations friend. I envy you. I grew up also with a mom who loves gardening. She can grow different types of plants and vegetables. I love to do that too but unfortunately, I don't have a "green thumb". LOL. I can't even grow a cactus. LOL. But I am really trying to learn gardening. I love to do it. My motto "try and try until you succeed". hahaha. Happy postings! Take care! HUGZ!

checapricorn hi its just fabulous how you feel when you can harvest your own veggies and fruits. I was raised on 'a farm and my mom taught me all about growing veggies and fruit as we always had fresh produce to eat and to can forwinter. I miss those day and the fresh veggies there for the picking, always tasted so much better than the store bought stuff.

Congratulations tp you .In a matter of fact I like gardening really so much just as you mentioned..eating the vegetables from our own garden is really a satisfying thing.I like that feeling as well. Now here in my country the price of the goods is really high in these days ,so have a garden of our own is really a good way to save a lot of money..But it is a pity that we live in the apartment thus we aren't that lucky as you to have a garden to grow the food vegetables...

It is a wonderful feeling. It is fun to go out every day to see what has popped up, to see which plants are developing fruits and vegetables. It is also very cool to watch them grow from a tiny bud in to a full fledged vegetable. It is an amazing thing.

Good job! I didn't grow up with gardening, my Mom just had a few flowers here and there, but nothing special. She worked full time and with 5 of us kids, I guess there was never time for anything like that. I've only had a garden twice before and never did it on my own. This year I planted several things in containers and then put a few things alongside the house, but I don't have room for a 'real' garden in this small place I'm renting. I can't wait to buy my house and have a proper garden, hopefully next year. Right now I'm thinking of digging up the remains of my sugar snap peas and maybe put in some cooler weather vegetables, broccoli, maybe cauliflower.

Congrats! I think it's one of most satisfying things to do. I started growing fruits and veggies because my guy hates storebought tomatoes, and things kind of snowballed. Now I'm a gardening fool! Not only do I grow my own veggies, but I collect seeds, save them, share them, and grow again next year. Veggies are so easy and they gave me the confidence to go forward with other plants. Enjoy your fresh fruits and veggies! We do a winter garden every year, so I get the satisfaction all year.

Congratulations to you! It is amazing how those seeds or scrawny plants you put in your garden grow to produce all these fruits and vegetables. I also have a garden and this year is looking like the best one yet. I'm just starting to pick my green beans and broccoli but I have cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, cantaloupe and honeydew on the way! Enjoy the "fruits" of your labor :)
