Do You Like Old Style Decoration or Futuristic/ Cyber Style?

These days I am working in a building which is of futuristic/ cyber design and I am kind of getting bored with it. I guess I am a bit old fashion and like the "old sophisticated style" better. Oh and I guess the main reason I don't really enjoy in that building is that everything is so "white", and when the sun shines in, we can hardly see anything and it doesn't make us feel comfy. What about you?

I love white and insist upon it everywhere in terms of home furnishings. I want to put my own color in a room in the form of live plants but even my AeroGardens are white. The only other furnishings besides white are light colored natural wood. I love the have the sunlight bouncing around indoors and reflected by mirrors, too. Old-fashioned ornate furnishings are ok for brief stays in hotels and that sort of thing, but to me futuristic is comfy. I am sorry that you have to work in a place where there is a glare, though. That is different, although I am not as much bothered by the glare as some people. For example, I never wear sunglasses.

I also do not like the futuristic cyber design... i love history... so most of the things i really love in life... are those that have vintage written all over it... i feel that they are more classy, comfortable, durable, beautiful... unlike the so called futuristic designs that play with color... or stick to only one...

im a little bit classical type when it comes to interior decorations...i prefer the old one too but at the same time a minimalist one..anyway the color of the paint in my indoor wall of my house was white.. i like the neat/clean ambiance of it..

I like wood...REAL wood. Not the modern junk that you see everywhere. I work in a small, older building that's brown. In my city, it is law that buildings can only be brown, light red, or turquoise. You can have no night lights to cause light pollution. At night we can see billions of stars. Because we are a tourist trap because of the red rocks here, that's the reason for the color scheme. We also have the only McDonald's in the world that doesn't have golden arches...they're turquoise. I should post a photograph.

I prefer a more traditional style with some modern touches. It is difficult to create a comfortable and home-y environment using an ultra-modern approach.

dear wodericequeen, i really like this question! i like the fusion between the old style and modern styles. i really am opposed to the "futuristic" style of architecture and design of things. it just reminds you of space doesn't it? i love furnitiure from Ikea and Ethen Ella!
