Arrogance and Inexperience Could Be Very Costly!

Barack Obama has the honor, by far, of being the most inexperienced candidate to be the supposed nominee of his party in this nations history! What is really disturbing is that his inexperience, combined with his unabashed arrogance could prove to be detrimental if not catastrophic to our nation's well being both economically and politically! Consider the following article from the Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/15/AR2008071502531.html

The thing is that by announcing a timetable for withdrawal just means that the people we are fighting will stop and wait us out. Then, after we leave they will resume fighting... and they will have regrouped and rearmed. Iraq may or may not be able to defend against these renewed attacks. The fact that Obama and the rest of the liberals don't understand this very basic concept is both appalling and indicative of their naivety when it comes to foreign policy and how wars are won. The same thing happened in Vietnam when we left before finishing the job. Obama has also said that he would go back to Iraq if it was necessary... so why not finish what we started while we are there and winning?

Destiny, Absolutely correct on every point! To even consider a withdrawl of the magnitude Obama wants is ludicrous at this time. IMO we will undermine everything that has actually been accomplished in Iraq not to mention make a mockery of the lives lost in this war if we pull out one second too early and then Iraq falls to another radical dictator!

So it seems as if we are dealing with a war for 4 more years with the Republicans and 16 months with the Democrats. We have been at war FAR TOO LONG Too much money has been spent on what? Trying to help another country reach democracy? Did they ask for our occupation of their country?? Doesn't America need to be thought about? At least Democrats want to use American money to help Americans....the Republicans take it and invest in other countries....Well, if our country falls apart due to neglect (which it is doing right now) how do these investments even help us? We are destroying our world image and we are neglecting the citizens that the Government was built to protect.

Pitgull, I agree, America HAS been at war long enough but I totally disagree with a mass exodus of our troops without regard of any consequences for the counry we are leaving! An arbitrary 16 month timetable assumes far too much and could be worse than staying a few more months or even years. BTW, about our country falling apart? Economically, the Iraq war is not costing Americans as much as we are willingly paying each and every day to foriegn oil producers! Sad, isn't it? Look for another post of mine on this very subject in the near future.

Yes and I also believe Ethanol is only going to make matters worse. It is just an additive to the gas we already consume.... We need alternative energy, we need to end this occupation. We started in Afghanistan....you know where the Terrorists were, and now we are in Iraq. Our economy is crumbling....look at unemployment, look at the housing crisis, look at inflation and food prices... America needs to take care of America, why do we even care about Iraq???:?????? Do Americans live in Iraq? Only because they were sent there. IRAQIS live in Iraq....not Americans....

I have writen in an earlier discussion that a timetable withdraw amount the the same effect as frying an ice cube, it will melt before our eyes. Obama's hubris will be his down fall, let us just hope that, that down fall comes before November. If one is not willing to consider the fact on the ground in the decision to remove troop from Iraq is just absurd at best and asinine at worse. How someone without a minute of military judgment can make a decision of this magnitude without consorting with Gen. David H. Petraeus just goes to show everyone Obama's haughty resolution. Even though Obama is planning to meet with General Petraeus, the question that needs to be asked, if Mr. Obama really intends to listen to such advisers, why would he lock in his position in advance?

Gewcew, I'm going to tell you why he is locking his position in advance; he is doing it to get elected, period! It is the oldest democratic ploy in the books! Even as late as 2006 mid-term elections the democrats used the "bait-and-switch" tactic to get a majority in both houses! Do you remember their campaign promise all over the country? "Give the democrats a majority in congress and we will get us out of Iraq" was their battle cry! Let me see, how many troops are still in Iraq? This is what year? Oh well, it doesn't matter, to the democrats any means to their end is quite all right!

I am beginning to believe that no matter what Obama says or does his adoring fans are either too short sighted or to dumb to realize just what a danger he is to the future of our country.

Cutelang, First and foremost, you don't have a dog in the fight! Being a citizen of the Phillipines YOU won't have to live under his presidency therefore can't make any intelligent comment as to whether he should be given a chance or not!

Barack Obama should be given a chance at the White House. I guess only then we can really judge him as the future track record will prove. I believe he will also be eager to prove his worth and correct all the mess President Bush has created, like the faltering economy and the Iraq war.

Thanks to the Washington Post for their accurate reporting. I agree with you that Obama could, and probably would, create a big international mess and would be a serious threat the the security of the USA if he gets into office. I have always believed that Obama is a big Muslim sympathizer, or possibly even a member of Islam himself, and it would be a great service to Allah for him to hand over Iraq to al Quaida. I realize this is a bold statement, but no less so than the bold and arrogant statements Obama is making.

I'm not exactly sure what kind of experience people should have in order to be President. Surely, being governor does not always prepare a person to govern a country. As far as what could be catastrophic to our political and economic infrastructure, can anyone be any worse that our current President? I also don't believe that Barack Obama is arrogant. He tends to be a bit stiff and serious, but that, in no way, indicates that he thinks he is better than anyone else. Perhaps people are mistaking his confidence for arrogance, but I'd rather have a confident President than one who is undecisive on issues.

Experience is not the only trait. Obama wants change and he will have and has now a host of advisors we need a good speaker. Too bad tony blair could not come over to run for president. Unfortunately he is not a us citizens. Jimmy carter did not have a lot of presidential experience neither di jfk Nixon had a lot of experience and see what that did for usa
