yes i've read researches that said garlic can prevent cancer. the latest research has got to do with how the garlic is prepared. it seems that the useful enzyme is only released when the garlic is smashed. so if the garlic is not smashed before consumption, it doesn't help in the prevention of cancer at all. so i started to smash my garlic before using them in my food. back to researches, there are just too many of them. different sample groups may react differently to the ingredient. so i guess the verdict is still out on the cancer-preventing qualities of garlic. cheers ;p

I no longer listen to them. They used to say butter was bad for you, now it's good. Next year it'll be bad. Pop was good, now it's bad, drink it if you want to. Garlic was good for years, now it doesn't matter. I find that my long-lived ancestors knew how to eat properly, natural foods with no preservatives. Eat like that, in moderation, and ignore the junk science and research claims. Otherwise, you'll be in a constant state of suspense and stress!

"They" are not reliable. However history shows us that garlic is good for building up your immune system, is a good "cleanser" for your system as well. Gets rid of toxins. Manages your blood pressure so it stays at your comfortable levels. it's also been shown that garlic could also conceivably prevent getting the black plague! It's a very good herb, so alot of people subscribe it as a cure-all.

hi dear....Garlic contains a chemical called Allicin, which has already proved to have numerous health benefits. A team of Israeli scientists recently used this chemical to successfully kill cancer cells as well as malignant tumors in mice. Allicin is not present in an unbroken clove of garlic. It only gets released when the clove is crushed, so when using garlic in cooking, make sure you crush it and use it. Don't add the entire unbroken clove in your food, as though this will give you the flavour of garlic, it will not provide you with the benefits of its anti-carcinogenic properties. The clove needs to be damaged, so it is more effective crushed than cut. When crushed garlic is added to a dish, any parasites, bacteria or other microbes get killed even before the temperature kills them, so if you are worried about eating outside food - the safest option would be to order food with a strong garlic flavour. Chances of food poisoning would be slim! Garlic, as we all know or should be knowing, is a natural antiseptic, and eating a clove of garlic a day also helps ward off most infections...i hope this information helps you..i use lot of crushed garlic in my food..take care
