It's hard to remember that far back but think it was a Chevy Impala. It was my mom's car and it was big. I had trouble parallel parking but finally was able to do it. I do recall a person on a bike coming from the inside curb right in front of me as I was pulling away from the curb. Almost hit the person since I was checking the driver's side outside mirror to see if any cars were coming. As a result, I was flunked the first time. By the time I was 16 and went to take the test, I had already been driving 3 years on country roads in Illinois. I drove for one year without a license all over St. Louis. That was dumb but I was a good driver and got away with it..lol

I took my driving lessons many years ago in a big old van. It was difficult to engage the gears and rather large, but when I passed my driver's test and got my first car, it was so easy to drive after learning on the van. My father taught me as he was a professional driving instructor in the army so he knew I would be best learning on something difficult first I think :-)

Ahh.. reminiscing. I can still remember clearly back in 1997 when I had my first driving lesson on a 1994 Toyota Corolla. I learned how to drive through a driving school, we call it A-1 Driving School, which is the best and the most popular driving school here. I can still remember the first day, I was driving real slow and almost hit a bus.
Good thing the instructor has his own brakes on the passenger side. After that, the car we used were pretty much random. We used a '96 Honda Civic and a '96 Honda City.
