I was telling a co-worker the other day i need a nice vacation after i got my son off to school. She told me about this meditation spa. She said she has gone and it is so nice. It's a spa you go to alone. You can not go with a friend or spouse. I was thinking that it just sound so wonderful. I have never went away alone before but what a great idea. A spa weekend just little ol me. So i wanted to know have you ever gone away on vacation alone? What was that like for you, did you have a good time?

I think that it would be very relaxing to visit a spa alone. I have been away on vacation alone many times. After saying goodbye to my sister I flew around the world on my own when I was 20 years old. I have had holidays in Malta, Tunisia and in the Maldives on my own. I met other travelers and the local people more easily by being alone rather than with a friend or a partner. These days I travel with my toddler son but it was so wonderful to travel alone like I used to in the past.

I went on many vacations alone, but that was before hubby and kids. Now I am so used to go on vacation with them I would most certainly miss them. I guess it would depend for how long. ANything longer than 2 or 3 days might be a bit too much for me - and then again.. maybe not, I need a vacation LOL

I've never done so before however I have a friend who did twice and had a wonderful time. She said she'd do it again in a heartbeat. lol I thought she was nuts but hey, everybody is different. The first time she went to Cancoon for the weekend and the second time she just went to the beach by herself to think. I told her she has more guts that I do for I don't think I'd feel comfortable going anywhere like that alone! Now a spa is something entirely different and I think I could do that!

I have never been on vacation alone, but I have always thought about taking a couple of days off by myself and checking into a nice hotel to spend the time in thought, reflection, meditation & prayer. I would love to know where your friend went. This sounds ideal.

Yes, I used to go away for the weekend all the time by myself I'd tell everyone I needed to get off the planet for a little bit. It was great not having to worry about anyone else. I'd have a great time - haven't done it in a while though...

I'd go on a vacation alone but I wouldn't waist it on going to a spa. I do most things alone and have a good time. It's all what you make of it. If you sit around and dwell on the fact that you're alone, you won't have fun. If you go with the attitude that you are on a great adventure than you will probably have one.

I hope that you will be able to go and enjoy yourself. I have never gone on a vacation alone. I always went with someone. I am afraid to go to alot of places alone, especially these days. I always go with my husband and my daughter on vacation. I get some time alone every now and then while at home. that is nice for me because I was never used to that either.

I have done so two years ago when I took myself on a cruise and had a nice time. Why not? seems there will be times when you need to do stuff by yourself and we all need a break from family and such, so go ahead and do it. you deserve it.

Yes I have and its so relaxing. You can relax and do what you want to do when you want to do it. I enjoy the family time and vacations but I also need the time to myself. Your not on anyone elses schedule but your own and thats the best feeling in thr world. For once you get to be pampered and waited on and you come back a new person.

I have never been on vacation by myself, nor have I been to a spa, but wow does it sound great! I would love to go to a spa for the weekend for a little R&R. I wouldn't go on an actual out of town vacation by myself though, too many people come up missing.

No, I haven't really done that yet. But you know what, that's one of my dreams. To go somewhere, maybe abroad, just to have a tour all by myself. I think that will be fun, relaxing, exciting, rejuvenating and all in all wonderful. I think basically it's the time we spent alone that gives us the chance to clear our minds once in a while, and to assess what's taking place in our lives. Some day, I'll do that, maybe when my daughter has already grown up. :)

I have never gone alone for vacation, but i will like to do so for some days & enjoy myself forgetting all family worries. But i know well i cann't do so due to our big family. I always go to vacation with my family & friends. It will be better if you go to spa alone, coz meditation needs empty mind.

yes you need to unload of the stuff that you collect in your mind and leave it right there. you can't really do that when you have kids and pets and dishes to tend to every day

I have never been into a vacation alone but then if I would be given a chance for a spa getaway, then I would gladly take it. Well, I am actually, I am more of a loner and I think that idea would be a fun way to relax my mind from the stress. It's always good to try something new and doing it alone may be a different experience.

That sounds like a good idea. I like the alone part, I'm not into spas. I'd definitely go on vacation alone because that's a way to truly find peace with yourself. And you can also do a little soul searching.

Yes I would. vacation is something I would do to have fun and having anyone with me would mean shared interests and that would also mean missing out on somethings. So I have decided that I would take a vacation sometimes sooner or later, and would enjoy myself. Alone gives me a feeling of being free to do anything without having any prior commitments to anyone but myself. I know it will be fun going around with friends, but once in a time, one should take time for himself and look at life, alone rather than going along with the crowd. I have this beautiful place in mind, where we can go rafting and on a safari in India. I just hope that I collect enough to go there in the next year break I get. bourne
