saying a lot less and meaning a lot more ... saving time for readers and giving the world a chance to survive the information overload. Any comments? :)

I would prefer to hear less at a slower pace than hear more with someone talking really fast which seems to be the norm these days. It's hard for older people to hear when people talk fast. Say less and say it slowly, deliberately and clearly....people will remember more of what you have to say.

'interesting point. perhaps it happens because so many people a hurry to get things done ... I almost miss the days when people can work really hard and need to think and speak only of simple things... I like the saying "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." Any thoughts?

I agree that many times simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. I don't think it is a hard and fast rule. I recently watched a lengthy video which was very sophisticated and touching. It is the last presentation by Randy Pausch.

Sometimes, I find it head straining when reading thick text books, but I also realize it's not the whole textbook that I should study for the semester. I read but it depends on how juicy the subject is.Most of the textbooks I have been through emphasize on a few things, so there is a whole lot of repetitions, to allow the information to pass through. I like to get straight to the point, and also love simplicity. When things are too sophisticated...then that very thing is unfathomable irrespective how simple it is in its true form.

That is one reason I am write mostly short stories and articles now. I once had a dream to write a book but I find my time is limited and it is easier to motivate others to read something only a page or two long. Hand them something longer than that and it may never get read. If you would like to see a sample of what I mean here is one of my short stories. http://www.authspot.com/Fan-Fiction/Akanon.182315
